Generations FOC for me, followed closely by the GDO figures.

Even though Optimus is severely lacking, and was wholly unnecessary, I love the rest of the line.

I really enjoy my GDO Megatron and I want a Powerdive badly, but GDO contains no wholly-new toys, so I don't want to call it my top for the year.

I think I'd have to go with Generations FoC. Yes, they are smaller and weaker than WfC toys, but they beat out Prime RiD for me. The G2 Bruticus box set alone was probably my top toy for nearly the box alone.

I should mention that I never got MP Lambor or any of the new transforming Kreons, so maybe if I had been able to get them they'd have hit high on my list.

would have said botshots had not the late TRU exclusives came in. they definitely had the best exclusive TF picks for the year, imo.

GDO and the Second coming of first edition Prime were my faves of the year
The Prime RID Line and Generations FOC had an equal mix of excellent and terrible
Botshots got kinda stale for me due to lack of variety in engineering, and i don't collect the Kreo Build sets, just the Kreon minifigs.
Cyberverse=vomit, waste of shelf space that could go to the Deluxe and Voyagers, and too damned expensive for what they are

GDO. The origional molds for all of the Deluxes were great, but them in different colors was great.

    I guess RiD is second.

Easily the TRU exclusive stuff this year. Every GDO i have gotten is a glorious repaint of good molds. Also getting the FE figures beyond bulkhead and Bee who i had before has been amazing. The FEs are such amazing figures. The TRU exclusive stuff wins hands down!

GDO was out for a month, and got more of my money than Prime. The Voyagers were bogged down by an awful gimmick, many of the Deluxes were inferior to older versions of the characters, and the small size and lack of paint apps didn't help them any, either. I wasn't even tempted by anything bigger than a Deluxe.

FoC... the first two waves were bad. Prime was tiny and less complex than the WfC version, Jazz had no reason to exist, Onslaught is a bad toy, Brawl is worse, Blast Off doesn't have shoulders. Swindle, Vortex, and Shockwave... are better. Shockwave's the only FoC Deluxe I think of as worthwhile in the first two waves, and I don't even own it (I'm waiting for Air Raid). I want Soundblaster desperately, but... you know... I can't find him. His Cassetticons, however, are overstocked and... pretty meh.

The TRU exclusives included Powerdive, who is probably my TF of the year; fan-favorite Hot Spot; Legends Bluestreak and Thundercracker (two of my pet characters) with 3mm abilities and G1 weapons; the best Springer we've gotten; a great repaint of the already great Skystalker (Laserbeak or not, it's a good looking toy); FE Prime, Starscream, and Bulkhead who are head and shoulders above the RID versions... not only did I get a larger percentage of the GDO figures, most of my favorite purchases this year were GDOs.

Prime Cyberverse does deserve an honorable mention... but then again, my favorite Legion class figures were in the GDO line.

RiD over FoC simply because all the good FoC toys aren't really going to hit until this month.

Prime is just a really fun line. Good bots and vehicle modes, fun and intuitive transformations, only brought down by a couple bad molds and a crappy gimmick on the Voyagers.

Prime First Edition is like what, 3 reissued molds? Yes, they're great but it isn't really a "line" IMHO.

I had to vote for the option with Prime FE listed in it. Although I am Canadian and we got it late 2011 it is still a beautiful line up of figures.

I would have voted RID PRIME but the FE had way more gems in it and it was build with the old model intact vs the new smaller, hollow, less paint model they follow now. Not dogging PRID it's just not as good as FE.

I know the exclusives were the ones with the most anticipated figures, but Bot Shots and Kre-O were the lines I enjoyed the most this past year.

I'd imagine that's why he lumped it in with GDO.

I had to go with RID prime since I have more from that line.

I really wish FE prime were it's own listing. I absolutely could not do the generations part of that option. Not my cup of tea

    In order...
    • GDO/Prime FE-All of the GDO molds that I purchased were fantastic representations of their characters and moved this line to the top of the list in an instant. Add in FE Bulkhead to the mix, and there's no way any of the other lines could touch this category.
    • Generations FOC-After a really slow start, Bruticus and Soundwave with his minions helped me gain hope for the rest of the line. I've probably played with these two sets of figures more than any other toys this year.
    • Other-TRU MP Prime and TRU MP Thundercracker look so good on my MP shelf!
    • Botshots-Like Pokemon, I've had the overwhelming urge to catch them all. So simple and fun!
    • Kre-O-Ok, I've yet to purchase a set at full price. I honestly don't think the sets are worth retail cost (I feel the same about Lego as well), but they are a ton of fun to put together and I love displaying them in alt mode.
    • Prime RID-There are a few standouts in this line. Arcee, Wheeljack, Dead End, Vehicon, Deluxe Optimus and Voyager Megatron are great toys. The rest of the line is pretty meh for me, though.
    • Prime Cyberverse-The potential for cool playsets had me excited. The poor execution of the concept left me feeling extremely disappointed.

    There's a Deluxe RiD Optimus?

I suppose my order would be:

    GDO/FE
    Cyberverse
    Prime
    Bot Shots
    FoC
Kreo (though more because it's not my thing than its quality).

It took me a while to warm to it, but Prime RiD is really knocking my socks off. Just got Rumble -- that is an awesome figure! And that RiD Vehicon really does live up to the hype... it's amazing.
