Hello,

I'm fairly new to the third-party game. What's the best 3rd party Galvatron?

By appearances only, Sovereign looks most loyal to the G1 cartoon look, and is my favorite. But what are the pro's and con's of the others? Tyrant. Mania King. Etc.

Mania King is the best CHUG you will get. The only issue is the wrist articulation.

FT has the best bot mode, but the alt mode is okay at best and the production samples have shown the shoulders to be weakly supportive of it's body weight in alt mode. The paint looks lovely!

DX9 has the best Alt mode, but is inferior in the bot mode. It's not bad by any means.

I'm going for FT, but no hate for DX9.

 

I'm banking on Sovereign right now. He looks terrific.

 

XTB. They haven't really released it, but they are known to release multiple versions of a character starting from a possibly questionable quality/looks and improving along the way.

With an approach like that, it's hard not to end up the best.

 

X trasbots abaddon, I do know it's a render, but x transbots exactly makes the render into the toy.

 

What he said, I'm in the tyrant camp myself but you can't go wrong with either. You can probably get Tyrant on the cheap right now with sovereign coming out soon

I have Tyrant but plan on getting Sovereign. FT wins robot mode by a fair margin but Tyrant's alt mode is light years better and probably has a cooler transformation. Both well worth owning. Don't have Mania King as I could never get past that pointed old crone face and the curling elbows. The latter is a huge deal breaker for me.

 

Mania king is way better than the classics Galvatron I got leading my deluxes. I need a nice deluxe Galvatron. It needs to be deluxe size. Mania king is voyager? If not then I need to get one

 

Courtesy of TJ Duckett. Mania King is voyager sized, but looks great with CHUGs. I have classics Galvy, but Mania King has a presence about him that screams Decepticon leader. I'm keeping the classics as a collectable, but he's not going to be on my main CHUG display after I move. Go for it, man!

 

I'm hoping that upscale dx9 Tyrant is just a half head shorter than Cyclonus or I'm gonna have to get that mania king.

 

^ to be honest the Titan Returns voyager is much better than that garbage deluxe figure, ugly mask gimmick and all. I have the UW version and while the purple is a strange shade, the face is painted silver and the Titan Master is painted to look like a tiny Megatron. It's great. On the whole I'm sure Mania King is technically a better figure but he just hits a couple pet peeves of mine that I can't get past. I really like the newer Voyager.

Mix and match
If you are looking for cool transformation or displaying it in alt mode, DX9 is cool.
Robot mode, nothing defeat Sovereign so far.
CHUG, go for Mania King
Legend Class, go for DX9.

XTransbot is out there too. Wait for it too, because their Sweep and Cyclonus are great.

 

I have both and i prefer the easier and more fun transformation of the TR toy iver Mania King. The way they executed the TR gimmick on him was very badly done really and the position of the cannon is terrible.
Mania King is a great figure un his own right though barring the head that cant be folded away in altmode and the fact he's a tad smaller than official voyagers.

 

DX9 Tyrant is still my go to. I modified the extra matrix that came with Masterpiece Roodimus Prime and slapped a 3d con emblem on him. Absolutely love him. The hands a feet could be a little better but his head is perfect. Alt mode is also perfect.
