I like spiderman, I unfortunately have only read the first 30 issues of the orginal amazing run. I know that when Ditko left and Romita Sr came along it was still a good book but when did it start to tell off? What was the true reason for Ditko leaving? I heard it was over not wanting to reveal the idenity of the green goblin. I got a couple issues of spidey as a kid around the first year of hobgoblin and thought that are was pretty cool. I guess what I am trying to say is can you recommend me some new books of old school spidey to get. I do plan on getting all of the amazing masterwoks eventually. I just like the old spidey, where it seems they didn't alter him for shock value and lame crossovers. Anybody feel like that? I seen one of the new spidey books on the stands and I just could not believe how marvel has let one of their icons slip. I do like the ultimate spiderman stuff for the most part.

My personal favorite stories of "older" Spidey are the "Death of Jean DeWolf" and "Kravens' Last Hunt" stories

Death of Jean Dewolf isn't that about some detective? That was in web of spidey right? Kraven's last hunt, I have heard of. If I recall it has nice artwork by Mike Zeck. Need to read both.
