now that MP Shockwave has been released, we've seen many versions of the one eyed purple blaster over the years, what your favorite iteration?

MP. The Alternator is also really good though.
    And so is Animated SW.
And so is Beast Hunters SW.
    And the CW version.
    ...Shit, I think I'm a Shockwave fangirl.
Seriously, though. He might not have many toys, but they're all really damn good IMO.

I would say MP followed closely by G1

I'm a Shockwave nut too...but the G1 figure was perfect, IMO. No, it's not a modern toy but it's a beautiful piece.

MP is a brilliant update but I prefer a more toy-faithful paint scheme...and the price seems a bit too high for what it is.

This. Even though he's a car and called "Shockblast", it's still pretty cool. I waited for MONTHS for it to go on clearance at TRU, and when it finally did, someone cleaned them out, but left the beat up boxes. Still a purchase I don't regret, though, thrashed box and all.

Combiner Wars Legends & Fall of Cybertron Deluxe.

I like the Beast Hunters Voyager but its meh in terms of playability, possibility, and articulation compared to those other two. Really want the DOTM voyager. Hopefully Hasbro makes a voyager sized Shockwave one day to fit on my CHUG shelf.

I love the CW Legend and the Alternator version a lot but it saddens me we still haven't gotten a Voyager G1 update worthy of Him. That and a similar Soundwave are probably my biggest outstanding wants.

I cannot stand the MP. Too small, too limited in articulation (why?!!!) and oddly coloured. That may not be popular around these parts but it's how I felt, my biggest disappointment in the MP Line so far. Sadface.

The MP is beautifull, i love playing with it, transforming it. I love how much it is the G1 toy with better articulation.
    FOC is very cool too.

Here's hoping for a good G1ish voyager Shockwave;)

I've been a devoted fan of the character since Marvel issue #4, so finding all official Shockwaves has been a big priority of mine from the start.
    My personal list:
    1. MP all the way. It's the quintessential Shockwave I've waited all my collector life for.
    2. G1. Still great after all these years.
    3. Alternators. Awesome design and a great figure to boot.
    4. Prime. I truly like the jagged design.
    5. CW Legends. G1 enough, and a fine update.
    6. DotM. Yeah, the design is odd, but dammit, he had screen presence.
    7. Animated. Not my favorite, but still quite nice.
    8. Action Master. GIJoe-sized and fun just to mess with.

I don't include Energon and FoC.
-Energon is an abomination. I never liked the design.
-FoC is downright ugly. I honestly can't find any redeeming factors there.

I collect mostly classics and use a customized Energon Shockblast as my Shockwave in my collection but how can anything besides the 3rd party version possibly rival the MP version? Now if they shrank him down to voyager size.... :)

The Animated version is a really, really good toy, but it's of a really specific version of the character, and works best as a "Shockwave who is undercover as Longarm." Contender for my favorite toy on the list, but nowhere the best if what you want is a cross-continuity all-purpose Shockwave.

Toy wise only, the MP. Although it lacks the power and presence that Shockwave should convey. And the colour is meh.

    This part I agree with.

I care neither for the DotM nor the Animated design. I did kind of like the Energon version, although the big arm was a turn off.

Out of the ones I had, I went with FoC. The deluxe mold is tiny for the character but I really love his alt mode gun ship thing. I do hope we might get a better at least voyager scaled mold for him someday though.

G1. While it's not MP-level of articulation, it has more than standard G1 toys and is heavy with die-cast metal.

And I know it's silly...but the OP forgot the Cloud repaint of Whirl. It's kind of silly...but I also kind of like it as it does make better sense than a floating laser gun alt mode.
