For me it's easily Combiner Wars Megatron. The silver version does a good job with mimicking the G1 design. Plus the tank mode just feels more worthy to engage Prime's truck mode over some tiny gun.
Is G2 part of G1? it's the same continuity. But It specifically states it's 2, not 1. That's like a Koan or something. Well if it is, big G2 megatron will always have a special place in my heart. but otherwise, I'm holding this question in abeyance until TR Megatron gets here.
combiner wars, G2, titans return, megastrel granville and uh... does boldform gladius count? one mode was a gun but he also has a tank mode
Yeah, that's a real conundrum. G2 is by its very name a different generation, and yet G2 Megatron is still the same G1 character. If G2 green & purple tank Megatron counts, then that's my #1 choice. But then, if G2 Megatron counts because it's a continuation of the same character...does that mean that Galvatron figures count, too? Anyway, I guess of the toys that were at one time meant to represent the G1 character but are also still named "Megatron", my other favorites would be: the silver version Alternity figure Beast Wars Alligator CW Leader and that 3P IDW Voyager. I forget what it's called and I don't think it's out yet, but holy cow it looks great.
