I am of course referring to any transformers toy featuring multiple alt modes, ie triple changers, 6+ changers etc. Given the inherent engineering difficulties faced when designing such toys, I'm curious as to which characters you feel have pulled this feature off best over the years?

I am not sure of them all, I can only go with the one I have. FP Springer.

I think Sixshot is still the king until Hexatron comes out.

Is there even a contest at G1 Sixshot? I mean, that's a big breakthrough.

Yeah, you can talk about say, RiD Galvatron, but that wouldn't even be in existence if they never developed G1 Sixshot.

So my vote, even if Hexatron comes out, goes to G1 Sixshot, just because "he started it" and for him to be such an engineering marvel back in the day.

Probably have to go with Blitzwing for the best in theory & in practice. Springer would be a close runner-up. Those are the only two triple-changers imo whose alt modes work well together in terms of function and comparable size believability.

Sixshot will always get my vote for being the lamest multi-changer idea ever.

Animated Shockwave/Longarm Prime, I mean, 2 robot modes (not so much difference really, but it IS amazing anyways)
that would be all... G1 had more but I don't own them 'cause I don't like their design, and the classics Astrotrain and Octane are nice, but their alt modes somehow sucks xD
can't wait for MOAR multichangers... REAL multichangers (I don't care if it is 1 alt-mode with 2 bot-mode as some molds) not something like "battle station" Straxus that is... strange and looks like a tank after sex

    Ebay:
1 G1 Overlord (base, tank, jet, robot)
    2 animated Shockwave
3 G1 Astrotrain blows the classics one out of the water, no kibble in either mode,
4 G1 sixshot is awesome as well
5 Blitzwing is close, the bot mode suffers a bit, but still an awesome mold
    6 Sandstorm
    7 fp springer

G1 Sixshot is the be all and end all of multi changers. I eagerly await Hexatron so he will have the poseability he deserves.

I'd have to say Classics Astrotrain. It's one of the few that has good looking, distinct modes AND a good robot mode.

Sixshot and RiD Megatron both suffer from "modes that don't actually really look like anything-itis," which hurts them both in my mind.

Let's see...this is a tough one. I mean technically we'd have to include pretty much all bases and combiners as well.

Metroplex is a contender, but not so much so because he is a tripple changer - I just love that mold.

I do have a special place in my heart for Tidalwave as well...I honestly can't say. Too many awesome ones to chose from.

I used to love Snapdragon. But for the time I think Doubledealer was a pretty amazing piece of engineering.
