So, I have to say that Hasbro and takara have gotten pretty damn innovative when making new Motorcycle TF's. The upcoming Chromia figure is a good example. Sure, its a unicycle bot, but they're at least including a stand for her that can be integrated in several ways. Which, just by itself, is leaps and bounds better than Thrust or his drones from BM. But if you look at all the motorcycle bots over the years, they always seem to get real creative as far as the Transformation. Whether its Armada Minicon Nightbeat (which sucks, but still creative) or Animated Prowl. My personal favorite motorcycle bot of all time? G2 Roadrocket. That guy needs more love. Some other personal faves; Minicon Dirt Rocket, Animated Oil Slick and Animated Prowl. Least Favorite: Cybertron Lugnutz. Fail. Discuss.
Animated Prowl, no question. Bike mode = no evidence of bot mode. Bot mode = no evidence of bike mode.
I disagree with the OP about Lugnutz. He is a very cool bike mode. His robot mode sucks though. But a very good Motorcycle mode. And lets not forget Movie Arcee. Another very good Motorcycle mode and robot mode is cool too.
I like the new Arcee-sisters in ROTF. They look alien and I'm curious as to what their combined mode will look like.
Now, see, I like Cybertron Lugnutz quite a lot.... he has a unique bulky look, like his face is hunkered down amongst an entire motorcycle that he's wearing on his back. Whereas I have a deep hatred for minicon Dirt Rocket/Offshoot, because that little thing can't stand up to save its miserable life. You can kinda prop it up just so and it'll stay for a bit.... until a breeze comes along and it rolls right off its rounded feet. ROUNDED feet.... who thought THAT was a good idea?!? But I agree with you on Road Rocket, he's quite nice.... as is his cousin Road Pig/Axer. I'd say the best motoformers so far, for me, are definitely Animated Prowl and Movie 1 Arcee.
pro Animated Prowl is great, but he can be a pain sometimes, the non moving bike sides, Oil Slick hoever fits the bot in the bike mode, without a complex transformation. I am not sure whic one is taller, but they both get a larger bot in the bike mode then you would with most motorcycle transformers, but I like Oilslick my self.
Yeah the cycle mode was a good one. I do prefer the more crotch rocket type bots though personally. But Lugnutz bot mode was awful in my opinion
Animated Prowl by far - believable bike mode, virtually kibble-free and highly-posable 'bot mode, and a very clever transformation that gives the wheels somewhere to go. TF1 Arcee would be a close 2nd if not for the horrible dangling split rear wheel in robot mode (making arm poses difficult), or the front wheel sticking out of her back.
