Cool, i remember Drift being a skilled swordfighter but not in H2H. I think Optimus knows some but i don't think it was ever specified what type of Martial Arts he knew.

It's stated in Cybertron that Landmine trained Optimus Prime in Metallikato. This vdeo does a pretty good breakdown of Bayverse Optimus Prime's CQC abilities about halfway through.

 

This one by a long shot. We don't see many H2H fighters amongst the Autobots, so there are very few whom can be mentioned here. But in my experience, from watching Animated, it would have to be Prowl hands down. :3

Yeah I’m sure it’s only for flying. Not some Taskmaster style photographic reflex.

From a Martial arts stand point I think Bludgeon put the most strict discipline into it. Both Optimus and Megatron could take him in a hand to hand fight but I think it’s because they are over all more powerful.

Having perfect martial arts form doesn't necessary mean you’ll be the best hand to hand fighter. Strength, speed, intelligence, reactions, and endurance can outclass skill.

I think Optimus is the best hand to hand fighter. Megatron very close if not equal. Just because they are pretty much never beaten in a fist fight.

Thing is, most of the combiners are lumped together. Very rarely does any media focus on individuals on a sub team. (First Aid being a pacifist, Slingshot being kind of a jerk, Swindle being,,,, Swindle.)

Some time ago I was looking into the original bios to see what kind of personalities the characters were originally supposed to have, and I kinda thought of Skydive as the Leonardo Turtle. Bookish but a surprisingly capable fighter.

Even if it only relates to flying, to say he "might" be one of the best aerial fighters out of ALL Transformers is not a minor thing. He's better than Powerglide? All the Seekers? The Sweeps?

(Okay, now that I think about it, there are a lot of flyers that get by on brute force, superior numbers and pure pluck. So unless I'm forgetting someone there aren't really that many "sky-ninjas" after all.)

Still that does mean that Skydive (other than being 2nd Aerialbot on the left) is actually something of a force to be reckoned with in the air. Yet nobody, no Decepticon, ever fears him.

(Hmmm,,, unless that means, he leaves no survivors? In that case, wouldn't that make him even MORE badass?)

 

Nightbird showed lots of martial arts skills in her episode.
Bludgeon was a master of Metallikato, the forbidden Cybertronian Art of combat.

Also, Bludgeon stated the Decepticons believed the Last Autobot to be the Ultimate Warrior, who was a Metallikato master. If some of this legend was true, then perhaps the Last Autobot really was a martial arts master, among other things.

 

I can't believe I forgot Nightbird. If it hadn't been for Starscream getting the jump on her, the Autobots would have been absolutely screwed. If people had sicced her on the Cons, they woulda been screwed.
