What are the best TF things you have found at second hand retailers, like garage sales, thirft stores, or Value Village? My best finds are the G1 Movie on VHS, the Beast Wars Video "Optimus Lives!" on VHS, and Cyber Stompin' Optimus.
$7 fort max with spike and all body guns except one waist cannon....and all other accessories missing but i got all the doors except the two waist doors for the elevator
that guy who found the complete mib g1 jetfire, that's perfectly white, for like $25 wins... sorry...
All found at a little out of the way thrift store.. There were others I passed on b/c they were in piss poor condition, the only one worth mentioning was a Rodimus Prime body(metal toes). What a great day that was!
oooooh! I love looking for TF's at garage sales and flea markets. Best find at a garage sale was a G1 Optimus (cab only.) Best thrift store find was a box that had: G1 Sky Lynx, Kup, Inferno, Rodimus Prime, Ram Jet, Perceptor, Ultra Magnus, Wreck Gar, Omega Supreme,some Constructicons and a few other various G1 figures with bits missing. It was magical! Edit: I had to fight to get it. The box wasn't marked up yet to sell, so I had to haggle with them. I got the whole thing for a bout 20 bucks.
About three months ago I was one of the first ones at an estate sale in this commercial building and saw two boxes of loose Transformers. I asked the lady how much for all of the Transformers and she asked me if I wanted to see the rest! She had seven more large cardboard boxes of MISB Transformers from Movie 1, RID, Energon, Cybertron, Classics, Universe, Masterpiece, Henkei & BOTCON! I didn't know what all was in them at the time I could just see the tops of a few boxes and promptly offered the cash I had.... $45. That haul is pretty much what got me restarted collecting Transformers again. I mostly just had some childhood G1 stuff and some figures from Movie 1. The loose ones were all complete (except 4 or 5) and almost all came with their instructions and the back of their packages (not the whole package just the cutout backs). I briefly asked why she was selling the collection as I was forking over the money (to find out why she was insane). She pretty much told me she was divorcing her husband and was selling all of his stuff and her stepsons stuff. Said that he (her stepson) took MOST of the Transformers with him. I felt a little bad buying it all, but if I hadn't there were plenty of other people more than willing to buy it up for their ingrate rug rats I'm sure. Had people trying to dig through my purchase even as I was hauling them out to my truck. I'm still trying to inventory them all.
