"Masquerade" Was a good one too. Autobots disguised as Stunticons? AND They form Menasor? Very cool. Good animation quality, good story. Only one animation error sticks out when Ratchet was TINY in one shot. But other than that very solid episode.
The Insecticon Syndrome, Heavy Metal War, Starscreams Ghost, Ghost in the Machine, Megatron's Master Plan, A Prime Problem, Microbots, Dweller in the Depths.
Cosmic Rust...all different types of characters in this episode. Call of the Primitives....great episode...nice to see Ravage Dinobot Island....introduces alot of new characters Carnage in C-Minor...nice to see Soundwave teamed up with Galvatron (Megatron) again. Ghost in the Machine....Starscream returns and drives Galvatron nuts Webworld...seeing Galvatron at his most dangerous
War Dawn, I have the fondest childhood memories of that episode. And also just the other day i picked up the GI complete collection boxset (Autobot version) so im a happy man haha
In truth you won't go wrong if you stick the two or more part episode sets, given their need to tell a basic and coherant story, they tended to be good. The Key to Vector Sigma, The Ultimate Doom, More than Meets the Eye and Five Faces of Darkness are my favourites.
War dawn key to vector sigma 1&2 starscream's brigade revenge of bruticus secret of omega supreme call of the primatives dark awakening starscream's ghost and ghost in the machine those are my favs
Oddly enough I liked the Starscream-centric episodes (Starscream's Brigade, The Revenge of Bruticus, Starscream's Ghost, Ghost in the Machine) despite the fact I really, really hate him (hey if you think that's strange, guess who my 2 fave 'Cons are ) I also liked Atlantis Arise, Triple Takeover and The God Gambit But my faves would have to be: Five Faces of Darkness, Dweller in the Depths and the topper for me, Webworld (I have a thing for character episodes)
I was never a fan of 'Geewun' because I never grew up with it back in its days, mostly because it had its... awakward moments *cough*. But since I've gotten a hold of the complete collection and watched it I might as well just come right out and say it so you get to see which one is my favourite in the seasons. Season 1: Divide and Conquer Fire in the Sky Heavy Metal War Season 2: Attack of the Autobots (very cute ending) Day of the Machines Enter the Nightbird The Master Builders (Prime plays Basketball!) Make Tracks Child's Play (who's bigger now?) Prime Target War Dawn Season 3: Five Faces of Darkness Dark Awakening The Ultimate Weapon Fight or Flee The Burden Hardest to Bear The Return of Optimus Prime
War Dawn. About a year ago I rewatched all the G1 episodes from start to finish and after that particular ep I sat there thinking "Holy f*ckin' sh*t that was amazing!" While MTMTE (deservingly) gets a lot of shine because it started it all, and many other eps get remembered because of popular characters or simply by being multi-parters, War Dawn was able to add so much more depth to the existing TF lore all in one episode. Honorable Mentions: Dark Awakening + The Return of Optimus Prime (because they flow together and kick major ass) The Key to Vector Sigma (new toys! zomg!!!) Call of the Primitives (on the animation alone. The Unicron origin story...meh)
Starscream's Brigade is epic because Starscream actually gets Megatron to admit defeat and announce Starscream as the new Decepticon Leader with Bruticus' help. Starscream then gets exiled to an asteroid, which leads in to the next episode where he and Bruticus are still there (in a rare moment of multi-episode continuity). Awesome stuff.
Agreed. Let's all take a timeout to relive it: YouTube - G1 BEST: Devastator Vs Bruticus Vs Menasor at the 0:50 mark, "Bruticus...devastate...Devastator!" A totally badass line!!
Very good and very cool episode(s). I have to go and watch them again. I just watched 'Heavy Metal War' again. Simple plot, but so enjoyable. A bunch of buddies from opposing sides rooting for their champion. Its like a schoolyard fight, I guess thats why its remained a favourite of mine since childhood.
Autobop is the best episode ever. We have Michael Jackson and Prince references, break dancing and jive talking teenagers, and Blaster vs. Soundwave.
