What was the best animated movie by DC that you've seen?

(NOTE: Due to the limit on how many options you have, I won't be including several of the them.)

My favorite is Wonder Woman, but Under the Red Hood is the far superior piece.

Red Hood by miles. Just excellent.

Crisis is probably the one I enjoyed second-most, although a lot of it felt kind of hollow. But I liked existentialist Owl-Man.

Most of the others, I can take or leave. A few, like Superman: Doomsday, I wish I'd never bought.

Yeah, Doomsday was kinda just 'there'. It felt like it should have been a couple of hours longer OR a whole arc of a television show.

JL: Crisis on Two Earths is the one I watch over and over and over again (though I do the same with Under the Red Hood, just not as much). So that movie gets my vote.

    Top 5
    Under the Red Hood
    Justice League Doom
    Superman vs The Elite
    Green Lantern First Flight
Justice League Crisis on Two Earths

I really like The Dark Knight Returns but I waiting until part 2 to place it since it's only half the movie.

Where is any of the DCAU movies? Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker are classics.

I'm only counting the DC Universe Animated Original Movies.

Plus I didn't have room for those.

Out of curiosity, on a related note, what's everyone's favorite back-up feature on these new DC DTVs?

    Mine is probably the Spectre.

That one really needed to be longer, imo. It's got the bones of a great story but then things get too rushed to fit the 75 minute time limit. Still pretty solid, though.

    out of those, the only ones i've liked are;

    Justice League: The New Frontier
    Wonder Woman
    Green Lantern: First Flight
    Batman: Under the Red Hood

and i haven't seen DOOM or Returns yet.

But your title IS DC animated film, thus that should be covering all dc animated films, not just the post dcu ones.

but yea, the best ones are Mask of the Phantasm, and Return of the Joker, by far. for me, they have yet to surpass either of those films.

Also, i liked Subzero too. even though it was basically just an hour long episode.

    Dark Knight Returns hands down.

I've been waiting for it since DC started doing these films, and it did not disappoint.

Of the choices provided, I've only seen GL: First Flight, GL Emerald Knights, Superman: Doomsday and JL: New Frontier. Of those, the only one I even sort of liked was Emerald Knights, so I guess that would be my choice. Superman: Doomsday and JL: New Frontier were bad enough to put me off getting any other DC Animated films; the only reason I got the GL films is because I found them in the discount pile.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and Mask of the Phantasm would be my favorites out of all the DC animated films.

    Batman: Under the Red Hood.

It was a very compelling story, from Batman's reactions to finding out the true identity of the Hood, the antics of the Black Mask and the Joker, Nightwing's humourous moments, the action, the setting. It was just a very awesome piece, and I loved it :D

The end fight scene is particuarly fantastic, as well as the aftermath :D
