Official or 3P, no matter. Trying for the most IDW inspired one but that's probably a pipe dream.

So far the best I've seen is the older Classics version of the deluxe scale SUV. The CW one looks pretty bad, IMO.

    Are there any other options?

    Henkei

As much as people don't like that mold I actually don't mind it.

    Botcon '05.

It's not perfect, but I like it better than the other options.

This is my choice as well. Except for the arm flaps it's great assuming you have the right size Optimus for it. As someone mentioned in another thread it can scale decently with either a Classics lineup or a mp lineup.

That mold is actually pretty decent, shitty Universe deco aside.

I settled on iGear after trying the Universe and Henkei ones. It works wonderfully with a larger OP like MP-10V.

The iGear is annoying to transform but displays really well. The Universe/Henkei mold is OK but it looks too stumpy to me and has the flaw where its head doesn't pop all the way up unless you mod it. The Combiner Wars version is a decent-looking figure but not Ironhide-y enough.

i like CW ironhide....classics one has too much junk hanging off it and the mold just doesn't look good to me. i don't feel it aged well. the gun is weird....i dunno, it was great when it came out cuz it's ironhide but i think the CW is a better option imo.

    My :2c: .

Universe 2.0 - Looks like Ironhide but not a good toy
Combiner Wars - Great toy but not a good Ironhide
iGear - Looks like Ironhide, great bot mode but alt mode looks really out of place.

I think with new paint, a better head and the hip mod, TFP we-swear-its-not-Ironhide, aka Kup would work really well for a CHUG shelf.

I saw someone use AM Swerve with a new head, it's basically everything I want from a CHUG Ironhide minus the window chest. I just pretend my AM Swerve has an Ironhide head. Haven't gotten around to making/buying a new one b/c lazy.

why is your jazz so beautiful mine doesnt look nearly as perfect pls tell me

It's completely identical to his G1 alt mode. Almost every single CHUG figure has had a different alt mode than their original self. I can probably count the number of CHUG figures that do this on my two hands, if not a few more.

CHUG has never been about replicating G1 100%. That's Masterpiece's game.

Or are you saying you don't like Weapons Specialist? Because I can see why people wouldn't like cluttered transformations.

Oh, I understand now, but I'm completely fine with his alt mode. He doesn't look like a masterpiece to me, still stylized enough

I do agree that he looks stylized, his design looks like something we would have seen in the early years of IDW. Hopefully I wasn't sounding like a hardass in my previous post. I do like what I've seen of him throughout all the videos and pics since his release. If I ever find a good spot for him, I might pick him up. (Assuming aftermarket prices aren't ebay evil)

It's Takara United Jazz, which has a nicer paint job. :)

I'd go with the CW figure - it's the best reasonably affordable official figure. While the mold wasn't created with Ironhide in mind, it still manages to evoke the character well thanks to the deco and headsculpt. Spend a few bucks more for the Reprolabel set and you're good.

Your next best choice would be Construct-bots Ironhide, TBH. Good likeness, cool Cybertronian truck mode, and very customizable due to the construction and play features.

The less said about Origami Nightmare Universe Ironhide the better.

Oh, of course. Ah those were the good 'ol days, back when we could expect Takara to deliver and they did. :drunk  *falls over*

No, he's Voyager sized. I think he reaches up to about the bottom of MP10's grill, same as most Autobot cars. (the pic above is using Faith Leader)

I only have Combiner Wars Ironhide, and he's satisfying enough for me. Arranging the shoulder panels a certain way does restrict shoulder articulation, but does emulate the Infiltration design (albeit in a thinner, younger looking form). Since you don't like CW Ironhide, I'll recommend the Universe one. It doesn't look too bad to me.
