    I would go with Gigapower if you want big, Masterpiece level figures. They look really impressive and are huge. They can be display pieces and are fun to mess with. The Fans Toys versions are too plain IMO and will cost more on the secondary market because they are harder to find now.

    I would go with Fansproject if your collection is primarily Hasbro figures. They're high quality and fit in with a mainline collection but most of them can be bought for around $60 each.

    That being said, the Planet X dinobots are high quality and if you prefer the look of them, I wouldn't hesitate to get them.

    Thanks for the pointers. I’ve been trying to dig into the third party options and there are more than I thought. The Planet X are my favorite as I like the cybertronian styles more, but the Fanprojects ones are real nice too. Hadn’t seen those. Wish they all cost a lot less lol

    Amazing stop motion, but man those movies are dumb.

    The G1 toon had better storielines.

    As for 3p. I'm holding out for grey and yellow masterpiece Dino's in 2021. When my wallet has recovered.

    Ebay:
    Are all the China and HK based sellers on ebay selling the gigapower dinos selling legit, or are there KOs of the GPs that are being passed off as authentic? I’m not asking about the trustworthiness of any particular seller.

    anyone? Bueller?

    As a heads up, things you should know if going after the Gigapower set: -

    There are 2 versions, Metallic and Chrome.

    There currently now is not a 'Full' version set you can outright buy, even after trawling ebay, as both Chrome Snarl and Slag are sold out along with Metallic Sludge.

    I would suggest sites such as
    ShowZ = GigaPower - Show.Z Store
    TFSafari = Gigapower
    TerrysTFclub = TerryTFSclub, Collect Your Transformers and Enjoy The Fun!

    Etc etc before using Ebay personally but each to their own.

    I myself have conceded that the reissue of Chrome Guttur (Snarl) will not be completed by Giga as touted on all these sites from previous contact with them (still holding 1% fingers crossed) and have ordered a metallic version to complete the set.

    Anyway good luck to you!

    Ebay:
    thanks! I just heard about showz but the others are new to me so I’ll check them out. I see the chrome and metallic and think I prefer the chrome for all except swoop, who looks a little too bling bling With the chrome wings :)

    i was mostly worried about KOs, as I see the chrome on the sold out ones on ebay for a decent price ($160-170 shipped) (I think?). Don’t want to throw down for all of them at once, though I do think I’m sold on giga vs ft for the size.

    I'm pretty sure they eventually do chrome guttur. It will just be 6-8months late (april-june). I'm seeing more and more preorders on eBay and it's on all the major sites but it is upsetting to need just 1 and they basically cut production.

    I do LOVE the look of Fansproject's Servero, looking like a "Neo-G1" but I do plan to go with Planet X's Vulcan. Been hearing too many good thing about that fig.

    Planet X Vulcan is a stellar figure and I wouldn't hesitate to get it. It's probably my favorite Grimlock. The Fansproject one is cool too if you get the one that comes with the throne. You can't really go wrong with any of the options because all the companies made good dinobots. They are all some of the better 3P figures out there.

    Fansproject Dinos are the style that I want from a CHUG scale. Each have their faults, but looks wise, perfect for me.

    There are not any KOs of GigaPower figures.

    It's currently the Chinese New Year so any Chinese sellers most likely won't be shipping anything out until February 9th or 10th. Even then, they might still have a backlog of orders to get through first.

    You can also do a mix and match approach based on which Dinos look best to you.
