I have FTs and Gigas. The Gigas are just on a whole other level. They’re bigger, feel heftier in-hand. And the finish work is really something special. For example, the red on the FTs is a serviceable flat red; on the Gigas, it’s a deep, candy-apple ruby red. If I sound like I’m gushing, I am. The Gigas may not be everyone’s aesthetic preference, but as a finished product nothing compares.

Truth be told if I had the money then I'd get them all.

Otherwise I've gotten the Fansproject set and love them despite their flaws. Will complete the Giga set however that's my personal preference; I don't seem them superior to FT especially since Grinder is the best Grimlock in existence in my eyes.

With both the Fts and Gigas Dinobots, it is nice to have this argument. Both are quality products and hopefully we can have a lot more of these discussions between same characters made by different companies.

    Gigapower all the way.

    Bigger, better design, superb tolerances.

Fanstoys offerings are really good too, but Gigapower's is on a whole other level.

Their Dinobots are incredibly imposing in hand...

FT's are more cartoon accurate. And yes I have GP too. I like them both for different reasons.

    Can't argue with FTs Dinos.

I have the whole set and they're pretty much the bomb.

Think of them as Pokemons. I have the FT ones, the PX ones and soon the rest of the GP ones.

FT for me. I've handled Giga and there's no denying they're nice, I just don't like the puffy stung by a bee look. Too much extra greeble and stuff as well, and honestly they're too big for my liking. Honestly, you really can't go wrong either way, between Giga and FT, there seem to be MP dinos for just about everybody. Both have excellent finished products with nice designs, I wouldn't call either on another level compared to the other, they're different styles trying to achieve different things, they're both nice sets of dinos.

I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea.
But in case you like 15" combiners (Warbotron, TFM, GT, etc.), and you always liked the idea of combining Dinobots... Zeta as re-issued "fixed" versions of the ToyWorld Dino Combiner -- called DinoKong.
Even though they don't tower over MP figures in bot mode, their alt modes are honestly a bit more accurately scaled to real dinosaurs. :confused2

I personally just happen to find them (Giga) to be on the correct size they were supposed to be.

I only have the FT DiBots but after Giga comes out with Swoop and Grimlock I plan to get the whole set in one go,if I can't I will just wait for them to reissue them that way.I think both FansToys and Giga have the best Dinobots for different reasons like:

Giga's are more toy accurate while FansToys more screen accurate.
Giga managed to make theirs even bigger than FT.
FansToys actually tightened the figures tolerences especially the last 3,which I likey.
Finally FT did a bang up job mostly to scale them to Hasbro/Takara size MP's but not overly out of scale.

I'd love to see a picture of Gigapower's version of Sludge in bot mode next to the other Dinos from FansToys. Collecting had to go on hold for a while and I still need to hunt down a Sludge.

I want to see FT and gigs side by side so I can compare and decide.

This is the last video in a multipart series that DIRECTLY compares the two versions.

IMHO, Gigapower's offerings are more appealing.

That isn't to say that the FT Dinos aren't stellar, because they are, but the GP Dinos are noticeably larger, more detailed, and waaaaaaay cheaper on average, even at aftermarket pricing.

For me personally, the choice was obvious.

Hello. Long time visitor to the site and occasional lurker. My son is all in on Transformers and with the power of YouTube has found all the crazy collector level stuff and now I’m sucked back in, but with a ton of anxiety over how much I’ve missed over the years.

I’m looking at the Planet X FOC Dinobots and the Iron Factory Lightning Strike Coalition/Pre-Dino-bots and wondering if there are any others like this I should check out, or feedback on either of those. I love the Cybertronian styled ones. Iron factory stuff looks great but the sizes threw me for a loop. Thanks all!

Upgrades to the HasTak set... there's a LOT of options.
But none of those are in that style... huh not helpful I guess.
