The Iron Factory Dynobots are the ones for me. Fun sized and full of character. I also really dig the alt modes and the books they're from. Besides them, I was tempted by FT's G2 Grimlock (I have a soft spot for him since I have the original G2 Grimlock). I will be keeping an eye on MMC's Grimlock, as I like their style. It blows my mind that people were paying $200 for something like that a few years ago. Glad I came way late to the third party MP world!
EXAAACTLY My wallet loves me for my sense of patience. I've saved literal THOUSANDS of dollars overall by waiting for price drops. Heck, I JUUUUUUUST bought FP's Bruticus (Intimidator), the full set for $150. Sure I had to wait a few years, but IJS... LOLZ
I don't even know if you can call it a T-Rex. But I quite like him. And I think he's better looking than Grimshell. But that's just me.
Strongly agree. I love the Lost Exo Realm Dinobots. Maybe not Swoop so much, and no intersest im the females, but Cubrar is a all-time fave, Columpio is great, and the Severo is awesome. I juts like how they look. They are all powerful, intimidating-looking robots and I love them. And they are built well and pose well.
If your collecting budget allows, buy both Fanstoys and Gigapower for MP scale. I also have the toyworld dinos, not bad but for me wrong scale.
Gigapower hands down. I have seen them all and compared them in hand vs the fans toys and it all boils down to the aesthetic and size you prefer. Both are excellent choices design/QC wise but I personally felt the heft of the Gigas to be more fitting.
I went FT, because of the size. I think that FT are a bit oversized, Giga was just too huge for me. Still, either choice is a good one.
I haven't picked up any 3p Dinbots, yet. However I must say that GP really looks the way to go for me. Probably gonna pick up Grimlock as my first entry. Fun thing about getting into third party late is being able to see how the dumpster fires turn out
i prefer all the none popular ones, TW/Zeta combiner ver. the FP i loved the look off and the driver idea. other than that PX and IF dino's would be interesting to have as well for their unique aesthetics
I wish some day XTB / Maketoys / MMC does an MP set, just to see how it turns out. Of the actual options, Gigapower for the win. They have their problems but look the part. I tend to anime accuracy for my Mp's but for the dinos no, they need to look mean, big, forces to be reckon with and they do. FansToys look good but just not the thing i'm looking for, plus i always think their Grimlock is a upscaled uppriced Mp08. Their are too similar. I get that it have better proportions / racthets / paint, you name it.. i owned the Mp08 and i can't justify spend that amount for that upgrade. I guess dinos never been so important to me..
I wish that KFC made some good looking G1 Dinobots, without the chrome or clear parts and all the limb joints have to be ratchets!
I mean, we have that bloody many G1 Dinobots these days I think the market is a little bit flooded for KFC or MMC to just jump in with "its the dinobots, G1 style, again" Now, if a company were going to jump in with say, Brontosaurs with their properly more triangular necks complete with hypothetical nubbins, or crazy horned ceratopsians, or a Pteranodon that can actually land, or modern Tyrannosaurs, then, hey, sure! But we are well, well, WELL done on G1 Dinobots at this point
Gigapower's dinobots are big hulking massive pieces. They stand tall and block space, I have Grassor and Graviter, but when you have all five, it would be like have a basketball team of five Shaqs. They see Devastator and say "o in any, bring it" then charge full steam into battle. I like both Fan Toys and Gigapower, can't go wrong with either and i think these are the pinnacle Dinobots and do not think any other company will produce better, even Takara.
