noname (12).jpg noname (16).jpg Bit of a backstory. I recently got into buying a fixing jumpstarters. I have 4 kids so I ended up buying 18 of them. They were all in various conditions mechanically and appearance. I ended up getting about 10 of them working. The older 3 kids got to have one of each. I got to keep one of each. A friend got a Twintwist and when my youngest is older I should have that last one back together.

Now I've got a bunch of parts...

Add my love of Insecticons and left over paint from my Skywarp project. Some of my wife's old nail polish for the eyes and...

Shrapnel, Kickback and Bombshell in Cybertronian forms.

Shrapnel has a combination of Topspins and Twintwists head. The parts are not interchangeable so there was some sanding and cutting. He has Topspins body and legs as well. I envision the "forks" becoming his pinchers when he becomes a beetle.

Kickback is all Topspin. The fins on the top of his head could later become his antennas. His "forks" are purple and I see them becoming part of his grasshopper legs. The silver wings become grasshopper wings.

Bombshell' s mouth plate is hot glue I shaped and sanded. He is totally Twintwist. He and Shrapnel both turn into a beetle so treads seemed appropriate on both.

I don't have working mechanisms for them so I am thinking of gluing rare earth magnets in the chest and legs to hold them shut. Thoughts?

    Thanks for taking a look.

So why don't we have cybertronian mode insecticons in the Siege line? Or at least in the Prime Trilogy line. WHY?! These are fantastic. It would be cool to see the same mods done to the TR molds. Great job.

Thanks! That is a really good idea. Unfortunately I'm trying to keep my transformer budget tight for the next few months. Those molds seem just a little pricy for me right now.

Thanks, Kickback was my favorite as a kid. (Looking for one if anyone is selling one!) I currently can't tell which of these I like best. They were fun to make.

I'll add some altmode photos soon. The springs in the legs are intact and they won't stay closed. If I take them out the bots don't stand up. Thanks for the interest.

Great stuff. I've long played with the idea of painting G1 figures as other G1 characters but I'd never have considered Insecticons from Jumpstarters.

Thanks! I had the idea of turning a POTP Shrapnel/Scrapnel into some sort of cybertroian tank and then got side tracked with fixing jumpstarters. When I came back to the idea I figured this was way easier then buying more bots to make the trio.

Update: I have magnets now. Altmodes soon.

The magnets fit great in the Topspin (Sharpnel and Kickback) molds but I had to do some shaving to the Twintwist (Bombshell) mold in order to make it them fit and line up enough to attract. I also had to remove/cut a spring since the springs were able to cancel out the magnets in due to positioning problems. I also added some filler panels to the wheel wells. Excuse my rush job.

If I had to do it again magnets first then paint.

    Enjoy! noname (17).jpg noname (18).jpg noname (23).jpg noname (19).jpg noname (20).jpg noname (21).jpg noname (22).jpg
