if you look at the outlined parts they are the same piece. basically you remove the combined mode head and put on the new one, then instead of keeping it in the position of combined mode you turn the head around to face the front of optimus' robot mode. in vehicle mode it would store the same way as the combined mode head

 

Got a CW Prime just for this guy.

This whole thread is full of it. We're in the 3P sub, buying indiscriminately from whomever offers the best product and disregarding intellectual property rights, ignoring or even applaudong naked thievery.. but suddenly *this* is the line in the sand? Mimicking the engineering and rough concept of a kit that was never going to grow beyond a crappy Shapeways printout (now now; the model wasn't shitty, Shapeways is shitty. Shitty, expensive, and about ten years behind what rapid prototyping can do) and comparatively nobody was planning on buying?

This kind of thing is precisely why we are here. Is it stealing? You're damn skippy. But by this point we are all completely disqualified to throw stones. Just admit that you don't care if it's stolen, you just care if it's good. Just.. let it go, guys. Enjoy the fucking kit. Christ.

TM2Dinobot isn't exactly known to be a rational individual.

 

I have no clue what Beelzeboss is "stealing" anyways. They've got the same general idea as John, and that's about it. Just a quick glance at the two projects show that they're entirely different in execution. John's work is pretty much an original design, with some design cues taken from Don's ongoing design/TW Orion, while Beelzeboss is obviously aiming for IDW's Combiner Wars look.

 

Nope, I completely agree with you. People should at least admit to themselves what they are buying, but the excuses that come up are laughable.

I buy third party stuff, but am under no illusions whatsoever that the designs are largely pinched from Hasbro/Takara and just because they have a new transformation - doesn't make it right.

This kit is a definite buy for me, because again it looks great. The irony is, whilst it was clearly inspired by the idea of Jonbonhamtrons kit, it is really very different.

Just buy whatever makes you happy
