Would anyone getting the Prime and Ultra Magnus sets be willing to do a part swap to show off what Prime would look like with white thighs and hips?

 

Sorry mate, don't have the DX9. But I do have a pic of him with CW Megatron that didn't fit in the review, and I'll be adding it with as part of a large gallery on Facebook later. Will post the pic here tonight 

He's quite a bit shorter than stock CW megs, think he comes up to the top of of his chest...ish.

 

Does this set color match with the takara Optimus or only the CW version?

Managed to get the back of the truck locked together tightly tonight and I still prefer it to the SND kit, even though I also believe the SND kit is better overall. This is just more what I want out of my Prime.

 

I like the scale that has megatron

You will not have pictures with the tf classics

 

I haven't got classics Megatron but I do have the old Henkel Optimus if that helps?

The proportions yield to a somewhat skinny looking combiner, but they're not that bad, I think... The visible bot mode hands are a detractor, particularly with Prime. Offroad limbs work great for Scourge too.

Got my set yesterday. Looks, 10/10. Fit, 9/10. Feel? 5/10.

While it is a substantial aesthetic improvement to CW Prime, and in my opinion much better looking than the SND set, it feels more like a garage kit, at best on par with the SND set. It looks like they skimped on build quality by using a number of small plastic joints, as opposed to pins or rivets, which isn't helped by the fact that the plastic is very thin in some areas. There's also a lot of mold flashing that I continue to find and cut off. Sculpt and paint work are clean, and the finish is well matched to my UW Prime. Overall it's a really nice looking set, but quality-wise it's underwhelming, especially considering the long wait.

Thanks for these. How were you able to pop the red and grey side parts off of the expanding mushroom pegs on the thigh pieces?

So am I right in thinking that the combined mode has essentially been forgotten? It doesn't look like this kit caters for fans of the combined mode whatsoever.

 

Looks like it works well with UW Convoy  

These pics posted by Cheem on pg.27 show the kit on UW Convoy (note the red shoulder ratchets, blue feet, silver thighs, painted wheels/gas tanks on the base robot).
