Read through the Japanese profiles first, like always.

I was a bit impressed (for the first time ever), as it seems with this issue Yee has finally decided to cut the bull**** and stop making up completely new personalities for all the Japanese characters. The characters are all pretty identical to their source characterizations, albeit with a few things either added or left out (no mention is made of Saberback's sorcery or Rockbuster's friendship with Big Convoy, for example).

Still, he left in quite a few things I was certain he'd eliminate for being "too silly", such as Scylla's crush on Scuba.

Yee also added on to some vaguer back stories about the characters, adding depth to them. For instance, Powerhug's backstory states that he suffered a defeat at the hands of the Autorollers and now hates them for it, while Yee embelished on that with some stuff about a martial arts dojo and murdered students.

Anyhow, I hope this "no bull****" direction continues into the last issue, as the completely made-up bios were my biggest complaint about the previous two installments.

The bat Optimus Prmal toy never really gave me much of an Optimus Prime/Primal vibe, seeing as how he was a cute little basic-sized figure and all, but the art for him made him look awesome.

Speaking of cue little Basics, Randy's beast mode was also made to look downright badass.

Is it me or did the bio for Rhinox's Transmetal form indicate a Beast Machines connection?

Some stores got them in this week... if your store didn't, most likely it will be next Wednesday (January 9 - confirmed on GCC and Midtowns shipping lists).

So, today I incinerated the BW sourcebooks I was stupid enough to buy so far, including the new issue 3. the art is shit, they're changing everyone's personalities. despite the title, this isnt about the beast wars characters at all. it's like some terrible fanfiction where the writer makes everyone's personalities whatever they feel like because they can't be bothered to learn about how they actually are. I feel terrible about actually paying for this crap. I kept hoping it would improve, but it just isnt happening.

I'd agree these sourcebooks have been far from what they should be, but incinerating them? That seems a little too extreme to me. IMO, some of the entries are worth saving at least.

Thanks for the compliment! I tried my best to draw him in a pose that would make him look like he can really kick some predacon butt (despite his size - i.e. beast wars' version of g1 Brawn).

Still can't find the issue at any of the local comic shops; hopefully, this week... sigh!
