That bottom shelf is a thing of beauty! Makes me want to see what else is below that haha!
no thats batman
Slightly older pic of that part of my “timeline” display I have handy
Always great to see the what went into the design process. Aside from the already mentioned slightly different looking prototype, the articulation study at the very early sketch stage is also very interesting. Unless I'm missing something, the final product doesn't have nearly as good a front to back ab crunch due to transformation.
Also gotta say that 3 view head detail sketch is just too awesome, especially the side view. We always say TT have the 3D models from Mainframe to work with, but this is purely interpreting what we see on the show which is 2D, by hand, into a 3D design, accurate as f&*k to boot.
it looks identical to the final product except for the colours as far as I can tell. I think the grey just makes it look more uniform? Not sure.
When I first got her, I really thought "what a piece of junk" because I was playing just with her spider form.
I put her aside forca few weeks and decided to finally transform her. Now that she is in robot mode I can say that she is a beautiful floppy mess. Her legs and hips are crazy loose.
Hoping the KO comes out soon and they fix her tolerances. Then maybe someone will buy this abomination from me. She is truly the new MP11.
I’ll buy that mess from you.
If you want to give me retail, then you can have her. If not, I will wait for the KO.
If this was a 3P, she would be universally panned. Her transformation reminds me of something between BadCube and Omnigonix.
When will they do Transmetals...........
So finally got to open BA. I had high expectations for this one and then I was busy moving house, but I couldn't wait so I watched Jobby's review, which kinda disappointed, as I generally would agree with lots of Jobby's points. But, in hand, BA is nothing short of INCREDIBLE.
The spider mode takes a lot of messing around the first couple of times to figure out all the locking mechanisms and get right. There's actually very little play room between parts once all tabbed in, unlike a lot of reviewers made it out to be, aside from the arm assembly which can rotate forward and back a little bit; which I'm glad about. And the ball joints are not nearly as flimsy as I feared. And I particularly like how the 'bot mode crotch piece props the abdomen up when the spider is laid flat on the surface, to create a "floating" effect, so the legs don't actually have to hold all of the weight if you want the spider look like it's standing; pretty sure this is intentional (kinda reminds me of Titans Return Blurr).
All in all, the spider mode came out better than I'd ever hoped for, and it holds together really well.
Engineering, not much to say, except that TT really don't have much to work with considering the 'bot mode accuracy. Same with Bumblebee ver 2.0, I'd like to see a 3p company try their hand on this design, in this scale and how they fare. I sincerely doubt anybody can outdo TT given the same design not matter how much budget gets thrown at the project, but I'd like to see someone try.
‘Bot mode. What can I say. I'm sure all the compliments have been given here in this thread. I remember reading someone's post (sorry can't remember who you are!) that this is a pair of butterfly shoulder joints away from being a top tier action figure, and I wholeheartedly agree. As someone that is an articulation junkie and has at some point collected nearly all of the top brand action figures, I really appreciate TT's approach to Masterpiece Blackarachnia; and as a company that tackled all different Transformers aesthetics from Animated to Bayverse, I'm sure the MP team had a blast working on this project, because of her uniqueness in design and the challenges that come with it.
This is a personal top 3 Transformer from 2019.
Very happy with my figure.
Great pics, especially the ones with the photoshopped visor lights
Love, love, LOVE these!
Question: How many of those base pieces did you have to buy? And if you got them in bulk, where’d you get them?!
I have 12 gray display bases. I bought those on Showz.store. They are Magic Scenery (KO version of Toyworld / Zeta Toys display bases).
Thanks!!! It would just be nice to take photos of my figures on something other than my couch or floor.
One adorable "bug" and one hot femme fatale arachnid
Bee's expression is like, "She's right behind me, isn't she?"
Hey, I just got the figure today, anything I need to know about transformation or the spiderweb assembly or anything like that? Anything the instructions don't tell you.
