So finally got to open BA. I had high expectations for this one and then I was busy moving house, but I couldn't wait so I watched Jobby's review, which kinda disappointed, as I generally would agree with lots of Jobby's points. But, in hand, BA is nothing short of INCREDIBLE.

The spider mode takes a lot of messing around the first couple of times to figure out all the locking mechanisms and get right. There's actually very little play room between parts once all tabbed in, unlike a lot of reviewers made it out to be, aside from the arm assembly which can rotate forward and back a little bit; which I'm glad about. And the ball joints are not nearly as flimsy as I feared. And I particularly like how the 'bot mode crotch piece props the abdomen up when the spider is laid flat on the surface, to create a "floating" effect, so the legs don't actually have to hold all of the weight if you want the spider look like it's standing; pretty sure this is intentional (kinda reminds me of Titans Return Blurr).

All in all, the spider mode came out better than I'd ever hoped for, and it holds together really well.

Engineering, not much to say, except that TT really don't have much to work with considering the 'bot mode accuracy. Same with Bumblebee ver 2.0, I'd like to see a 3p company try their hand on this design, in this scale and how they fare. I sincerely doubt anybody can outdo TT given the same design not matter how much budget gets thrown at the project, but I'd like to see someone try.

‘Bot mode. What can I say. I'm sure all the compliments have been given here in this thread. I remember reading someone's post (sorry can't remember who you are!) that this is a pair of butterfly shoulder joints away from being a top tier action figure, and I wholeheartedly agree. As someone that is an articulation junkie and has at some point collected nearly all of the top brand action figures, I really appreciate TT's approach to Masterpiece Blackarachnia; and as a company that tackled all different Transformers aesthetics from Animated to Bayverse, I'm sure the MP team had a blast working on this project, because of her uniqueness in design and the challenges that come with it.

I have 12 gray display bases. I bought those on Showz.store. They are Magic Scenery (KO version of Toyworld / Zeta Toys display bases).

Hey, I just got the figure today, anything I need to know about transformation or the spiderweb assembly or anything like that? Anything the instructions don't tell you.

Spider web assembly is a bit of a pain in the ass when putting the last piece in.

Be extra careful when sliding the head through the abdomen piece - gold paint on the side of her head seems to scratch off easily. Also her armpits snap together for a tighter fit in beast mode!

I haven’t spent a lot of time with this figure, hence the following question... I’ve only transformed her into bot mode out of the box and straight onto the shelf...

But today the cats caused her to face plant from almost 7’ down to the ground (wood floor) and now one of her shoulders is really loose. I don’t see any stressing around the pin, but I also didn’t want to play with it too much since the the plastic is very thin. Is there a lock in point for the shoulder or is she broken? It’s moving up and down along the pin (there is about a 0.32” gap) while the other side seems firm.

I’ve had mine open for a couple days in beast mode and got her posed after much, much fiddling and then placed on the web; I didn’t even bother with the web attachment because I figured hanging her on it using the fold-out crotch piece would be far easier and way more secure. Still haven’t checked any instructions but this works for me big time.

Stole that pose from Joalro I believe. Rubbing the front legs together is bringing her to life in my mind every time I see it.
I even built a little ledge attachment to my shelf so the stand can rest on that and I can display the web between two shelves.

Then today I cracked the second copy open intending to transform her but one of the spider legs was pretty loose so I decided to make that one the permanent beast mode display piece as a wobbly leg won’t impact that pose and so continued just working on various configurations to try and get the optimal beast mode.

I haven’t kept her like this but I thought I’d share an alternative method which looks pretty decent from a front facing, slightly below eye-level view.

Her butt is a bit more oval but there’s a tad less gold leg on show and the round shape flows more cohesively/appears less jagged due to the knee spikes being better integrated.

The feet clamping up to the bot-crotch piece is mostly what holds everything in place.

If there were just a couple of optional panels to clip on to the sides like on the TE figure then we’d end up with perfection.

So, as I already know I’ll be happy with the bot mode all I can say is- this spider mode has the potential to look really good and even full of character. You just have to be willing to spend a LOT of time faffing around with her- and displaying her on the web enhances everything. That’s a great accessory.

Also- I recall someone wanted an underbelly shot fresh out of the box so here ya go

Nice work man, looks great! Might have to put her back into beast mode again and try your configuration.

I've also been Re-watching the show, introducing it to a friend. I've noticed she actually often uses her front four legs to emote, not just the two. Might play around with that.

I saw MP-46 on Amazon Japan drop to about $90 shipped to the USA yesterday and sort of impulse bought it. It’s worth that, right?

I have no attachment to Beast Wars but so far have all the official MP molds except Dinobot, where I only have the KO, because most of them appeared to be nice toys. I probably would have gotten MP-46 upon release if the price was lower, but reviews I saw made me think the MSRP was more than I was willing to pay. Hopefully I’ll be happy with this one.

First off, if you haven't, you should 100% watch the show. It is really worth it. The first few episodes are a bit rough, but it improves quickly and season 2 is by far the best content in the entire Transformers franchise.

Otherwise, Blackarachnia is a great figure. Beast mode needs some time to learn to love it. It isn't perfect, but it is versitile and the more you play around with it the more you find ways to enjoy it.

    Robot mode is perfection.

Finally decided to ditch my BBTS preorder earlier this week and went with AmiAmi. Even with shipping I still paid less than I would have at BBTS and I got it in two days. From Japan.

Anyway, finally got it open this morning and I really dig it. I don't watch review videos so I'm surprised by the transformation in hand so I was pleasantly surprised by the fairly straightforward engineering, especially after Dinobot. I'm looking forward to fiddling around with it some more.

Only issue I've found thus far is the spider leg balljoints are a little loose but that's an easy fix.
