The worrying thing is, I wouldn't put it past TT to have done this on purpose for that very reason.
What a great looking bunch:
Cheetor is uncomfortable with this current setup.
I've put the web away. I don't feel it works in anything but a solo display and more so with the spider-mode (which Im not a huge fan of). It feels incongruous around the rest of the BWMPs so it's become another accessory I never really wanted and wont use much... ho hum.
As you can tell from my pictures, it's probably one of my favourite accessories so far. To each their own!
The web is an interesting accessory to include with Blackarachnia. I get that she's a spider, but the web doesn't quite work with her in my opinion. The web motif was more of a Tarantulas thing. Indeed, the only time I recall Blackarachnia being in a web was in Tarantulas's own twisted mind.
This is true, it definitely is an "outside of the show" kinda thing.
Ironically, Tarantulus do not use webs to catch prey, while Black Widows do. So there is some sense to it there, at least.
At the end of the day, she looks better on the web in beast mode, so I'm happy it is there.
I thinks that's why I'm not a fan, she looks better in robot mode that is clear... And in order to make her look passable in beast mode they included a web... so really is it anything more than a crutch? She also looks sort of oversized on it.
Perhaps not, but I actually like how she looks with her crutch. She's still in her beast mode making Cheetor feel icky as my last picture showed, and she looks great. To me, having a good looking Beast Mode is as important as a good looking Robot Mode, and while obviously having her look good in all angles and all ways is OBVIOUSLY better, if I have to use a stand to make her look good, I'm going to do it. I refuse to simply pretend it doesn't exist if I have a way to make it work.
Me too which is why BA doesn't quite hit the spot the same way the other BWMPs have this far. I do think she looks best on the web in beast mode but not only does that seriously limit what you can do with her beast mode, it's also (as we covered before) a total ball ache to get her on the web in the first place. I like the web accessory, I think it's a good edition but due to the way it works(or rather doesn't work) it's just not worth the effort and of less value to me.
I 'transformed' her again last night, it was a terrible experience and the result was a mess. So I'll refrain from now on. I may have a dud but this is the first BWMP I have no inclination to get a second one to display in beast mode.
Anyway I think I've said all I am every likely to say on the subject and am in danger of repeating myself as per usual. So I'll stop there and let everyone get on with it.
Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully the seller can get you taken care of.
Can't fix bad TT engineering.
Hoping a Transform Element or Magic Square will make a better version.
I envy your optimism.
Also, there’s nothing bad about the engineering. They just chose to make a nigh perfect robot mode at the expense of the spider mode. The actual engineering is excellent, but you’re trying to achieve a transformation that is simply impossible.
The Megatron from Infinite Transformations blew MP36 out of the water.
I really need to stop buying TT "masterpieces" when they come out. I end up replacing them with superior KOs and end up buying the same bots twice.
I feel insulted that TT even applies the word Masterpiece to many of their recent releases (Sunstreaker was flawed but acceptable, but they have had more misses than hits).
For what its worth.....I swore this figure off a day into owning it, I was appalled by just about everything about it. (Especially the transformation simply "not working")
...you can even see some posts of mine earlier in this thread.
Fast forward a few weeks later, I have fully grasped how this figure works, and it has become one of my favorites. I can honestly say it was complete user error that was forcing me to arrive at this conclusion.
I love converting it back and forth and simply use the web tilted backwards and allow gravity to hold the spider on it.
Just throwin' my 2 cents out there.
I'm glad you said this, because I was starting to feel like I'm the only person who is still loving this figure. Maybe it's the stockholm syndrome talking, but I've totally learned to love the beast mode for what it is.
Nope, its just a case of "the beast mode is awesome", that's all.
MP Sunstreaker was the all new character release I picked up from the G1 line. The only newer G1 Takara MP releases I'm open to getting are the toon color versions of Hasui era molds which are of better quality and far more reasonably priced.
Don't worry guys you'll be the first to know if I change my mind
I received both Bumblebee and Blackarachnia last week. Was a hard choice deciding which one to open first, but I went with Bumblebee first and BA second, leaving best for last, IMHO. And I think she’s absolutely great. I was able to read all the comments and tips beforehand, which allowed me to be able to transform her perfectly the first time, and she is currently changed back into alt mode, and attached to her web super-solidly (I can hold the web upside down with her hanging off if). I think both modes look great: spider mode is compromised, but her bot mode is truly sublime.
