Oh it’s gorgeous. I had TM Tarantulas but I fell out of collecting after the first wave of transmetals and I had no idea they did a BA that was not a straight recolor.

I probably shoudl have just said this when I posed the question, but I'm in Beast Mode group as well. Mostly because I think it saves on packaging. Blackarachnia is undoubtely more compact in beast mode.

I always prefer alt mode so I’m “forced” to at least transform them once :lol

Then for certain bots I can go “that’s not so bad” and add it to the list of ones I mess with more often

I reckon she'll be in Beast Mode, like others have said its more compact and they need space for the base and web sections in the box...plus they've all come that way thus far. Indeed when was the last time an MP came in robot mode? MP-36?

I don't really have a preference but if they come in alt-mode at least I'm forced to transform them.

I’m quite ashamed to admit that I hold a similar position; if a character comes packaged in bot-mode then it can be quite unlikely that I’ll bother transforming them at all.
I also find that the transition from alt-mode to bot-mode is really where the wow factor and wonder is most present and that’s how I want to experience every new figure. ‘Look at this nifty little cheetah/raptor/spider, etc- now lets make an epic robot out of these creature-pieces!’ I also associate the actual characters a little more with their bot mode designs so assembling those forms is like I’m bringing my favourite characters to life.
So packaged in beast-mode always gets my vote.

Edit: wouldn’t it be great if TM Tarantulas comes packed in a coiled up, dead-spider-like ball resembling how he began season 2. That’s the kind of articulation they should be able to cram into those simple Transmetal designs.

I keep going back and forth with mine. I love both Robot and Beast modes wayyyy too much. Seriously though, how can ANYONE not want a giant T-Rex on their display?

I often end up going on a transforming rampage and just changing everyone in alt-mode to robot mode and everyone in robot mode to alt-mode.

Currently I have the two megatrons (MP-36 and MP-43) with their arms around each other with big grins. Then I have cheetor in a surprised look in beast mode, Optimus on all fours in beast mode with generations rattrap on his back, and Dinobot in beast mode inspecting the golden disk.

Soon I'll like change all of them. I feel like I'm in the minority on this though. But I just feel like whenever they are in one mode, I'm missing out on a whole other toy.

That’s why I get two of everyone. I just have to see them all in both modes at all times because both forms are so well done and so intrinsic to each character. Everyone has standout moments in both modes.
However I tend to only change poses when I’m adding a new figure to the display.
It definitely feels about time to change some faces and get a new theme going on my shelf though. I reckon Blackarachnia’s arrival will push me to either start a new Pred-only shelf or split beast mode and bot mode figures up as the current space won’t take much more while also allowing for optimum admirability of each figure.

See, my problem with that is... I don't have that kinda money :p

Seriously though, I love transforming them as well, so it works out alright with me. Eventually I find I just get restless with them sitting in one mode and I feel the need to change it, and then I get to enjoy transforming it. Out of all of them, the ONLY parts I don't like transforming is getting all Megatron's panels to line up for beast mode, and getting cheetors arms fitting right in beast mode. Optimus and Dinobot I found very straightforward.

Anything with a beast mode for me stays in that form, the rest are in robot mode... so I don’t have and vehicles on display, only animals and robots. I think it looks different and sick

I just constantly transform my BW guys back and forth every so often. Nobody's ever in one mode long.

I find you get more display-ability out of an animal than a car.

I think because an animal still evokes a character.

I think animals are just more interesting display pieces... you can collect Hot Wheels/Matchbox, 1:6 scale replicas, model cars/planes, TransFormers, but what does one collect animal wise outside of TransFormers besides a kid having miniature figures?

I definitely prefer my TransFormers packaged in alt mode. Usually more compact, and usually much more awe inspiring going to robot mode rather than alt mode. I'm glad Masterpieces mostly come in vehicle or beast mode at this point.

Agreed. I just received JX-01 Winged Dragon yesterday and him being in robot mode already does rather put me off transforming him. I will eventually but if shipped in beast mode it would have been one of the first things I did. Another issue it presents is paint chipping/damage and joint/tab damage..and that across official and 3rd party. Although designed to transform the more complex the transformations and more extravagant the decos have become the more it's becomes sort of less desirable or fun to do so....which is why..

Agreed on all count. Shame prices have gone up so much since the likes of Primal and Cheetor that I can no longer justify it, I got a the IT KO of Dinobot and I guess I'll have to wait to see if further BWMPs are knocked off. I never had any desire to own two of any of the G1 MP figures for both modes as really, except maybe Grimlock, the alt-mode has no character or poseability.

    That would be really cool.

I'm assuming "they" refer to Safari animals and bugs. Cause as far as I know, only Safari animals make Safari animals.

I love this. I transform my figures ALL THE TIME. Depending on how I’m feeling that day, I’ll change my display, especially with the Beast Wars line, since both modes are so emotive and full of personality.
There’s just so much work and ingenuity put in both modes that I love to transform them back and forth, always taking my time, to appreciate the engineering of the figures.
My display never stays the same for more than a couple days. :p
