I’m...actually considering it now. She looks better. Not perfect, but better. The arms are still visible, but are better hidden. The butt is more cohesive and held together, and the front isn’t so squished. If I had any other BW MPs I’d pick her up for sure.

Basically what I expected. Was severely mistransformed. Beast legs are in the appropriate spot. Hourglass is the appropriate spot. Robot parts are noticeable, but far more flush.

Not perfect, but definitely acceptable. I'm happy.

Beast mode comparison, the one on display was definitely mistransformed in the already speculated areas.

    Colour me very much relieved.

Plus it's exactly how I hoped it would be, tidier/tighter abdomen, robot arms better tucked underneath and spider legs actually connected to the thorax...it aint 'prefect', there's still a little too much of the robot mode visible, the abdomen is still an odd shape and overall the body seems a little squat..but I'd say
she's only a little more compromised in beast mode than the rest of the BWMPs...and as there's less space to hide stuff I'm willing to give her a pass. Faith in the BWMP design team shaken but not broken.

Now TT clean your act up and stop trying to give us all heart attacks with your shoddy product reveals!!

At this point, my ONLY complaint actually is that I wish they made a way for the front of the abdomen to be a bit smoother. I feel like they could have hid another panel behind the hourglass panel in order to make the front-view of the spider look a bit cleaner.

Other than that, I think it's actually really well done for what they had to accomplish.

Yeah. Like, there's a LOT that just doesn't work from the original toy.

Eg, take the arms. On the original the forearms/hands formed the mouth. But on this one that's not possible because of how much they cheated on the CG model with parts. So a fairly sizeable chunk of the arm now has nowhere to go, and the arms STILL have to end up under this tiny head to boot because the transformation demands it what with the leg placement.

I actually want to see them do a take on Tarantulas now, looking at this mold. As he'd probably still have some kibble issues but his proportions would allow for that to be slight more minimal (IIRC the spider was differently proportioned on him)

Not a perfect comparison, as it is not the same angle, but it really does show off how badly the transformed it. You can very clearly see in the second image how much cleaner the back section is.

Love how the black panels fold out from the thigh to hide more of the legs. The ONLY piece of egregious kibble is the knees and that, in and of itself, is an achievement.

Soooooo....is AmiAmi the place to preorder? How are their USA shipping rates? I've been using AmazonJP for everything lately. How do they compare?

There was never a moment that I wasn't going to get this, but it is nice seeing that the sky is no longer falling for some.

oh, I see. You're referring to the entire MP line. Okay, TT has definitely made some questionable decisions with the G1 line, namely the pivot to the cartoon accurate designs. Don't get me wrong, i love the cartoon accurate designs and the complexity involved (I LOVE Megatron and Sunstreaker) but I only started collecting the G1 MPs recently. I only have 6 of them. I'm more okay with the BW line because A.) BW is what got me in to transformers. B.) Ive had these toys all my life and am used to robot kibble in beast modes. C) TT has been consistent in the BWMPs design philosophy. As far as G1 goes, i can understand people's frustration in their decision to change everything.

I mean, the sky was never falling, but I absolutely wasn't certain I was picking her up. Beast mode matters to me, as I said. Luckily, I was pretty certain that it was mistransformed, and even luckier, I was right. I will be preordering this for sure now

A_J just hasn't listed it yet.
I used Amiami before, but went all in with Amazon Japan. Their prices and shipping to the US really can't be beat.

I knew this would turn out fine.
It's the same ol' same ol' with every single release.....well, it did make for some entertaining reading over the last few weeks.

Yosh, looks even better than before, i'm relieved by the legs holding the weight of the spider, or at least what it looks.

I'm looking foward this mess (the good kind), she just looks amazing overrall.

So now we can speculate about how they botched the transformation so badly. Are they not able to send a single person who knows how to transform it to the show to oversee it?

Haven’t seen this one posted. Really happy how the spider legs are articulated enough for the gun legs pose.
