There's 43 episodes. What you have is probably the 12 English-sub episodes. They were fan subbed. They never got past 12 episodes. The other episodes are Japanese only.

I was thinking "Wow, Trap Door, I loved that show", but nevermind.

43 episodes for Beast Wars Second, 36 for Beast Wars Neo, both had a decent amount of clip shows, I think 4-5 in Second and 3-4 in Neo. They're two shows I would either like to see, or like to see IDW publish comics retelling given the hints of the story in the BW Sourcebooks.

i cant understand this.we have tons of old t.v. shows coming out on disc.shows people have forgotten about and dont sell all that well, and yet we have a current thriving fanbase for these unreleased transformers shows and we get nothing.

the beast wars two movie is two episodes from the show along with one original episode?is this episode counted in the 43?

yea the beast wars II movie is an original part of the beast wars series seperate from the series.
in terms of when it was shown on tv it fits between series 1 and 2 of beast wars. in japan the series went like this

    Beast wars (series 1)
    beast wars II
    Beast wars Neo
Beast wars Metals (bw series 2-3 combined)

in terms of chronological order beast wars II and Neo occur tens of thousands of years past the end of beast machines. this website contains a breakdown of the jap timeline for transformers which shows its placement near the bottom of the page.http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Generation_1_cartoon_timeline_(Japan)/src

Get raws and watch it that way. It's not that hard to follow even if you don't know a lick of Japanese.

More importantly though, once you get all the way through to the end of Neo, it is HANDS DOWN one of the greatest (In my opinion absoluetly #1) TF series of all time. Its just sad that so many fans have never seen it.

I'd debate it taking place after BMechs though. I'm pretty sure it was at least originally intended to take place along side US BW. Only LioConvoy and crew didn;y go skipping back through time. Neo's a bit later on, but not by much. When they meet, Lio and Beast Convoy are certainly happy to see eachother, but not surprised. And lets not forget that Convoy comes through pre-metal, and Japanese continuity didn't even INCLUDE BMechs until last year, long after the development of II & Neo. I think some fans (It's a wiki after all) are just trying to shoe-horn BMechs in in pure retcon.

There's no CLEAR place to draw the line, but it's pretty near the end. The movie features the Cyborgs, Lio-Jr., and all the other assorted characters, so its far enough in that EVERYONE is included (Except Ikard, but that's neither here nor there...), but it's definitely before the end-saga, since well, its the end-saga ;)

I like to think it takes place shortly after we get all the Almogomois mutations out of the way.

Since the BWII movie featured all the characters in the final forms (e.g. Starscream as Hellscream etc.), it must be set after episode 32, when Dirge and Thrust become Dirgegun and Thrustor, and before episode 36, when the Nemesis arc really kicks into gear. Best guess it comes between episodes 32 and 33, just before Lio Convoy begins designing the Maximals' giant cannon to blow up Nemesis. I wouldn't mind actually tracking down some of those bootleg BWII DVDs that were on eBay a few months back just to be extra sure about my facts though... :)

Picked up a complete set of raws from one of the best video-providers in the fandom a few months back. Still pretty near the beginning though.

I watched my VHS copies into near-ruin back in the day, so its all very [email protected] to me re-watching them now ;)

Well all the character names are in English (or at least Engrish) as are most of the major (and not so major)plot-point related things. It's a show aimed at little kids, so the animation and the voice-acting is all geared towards being very easily understandable.

If you watch it, and PAY ATTENTION, especially to facial-expressions, actions, and voice-inflections you can usually follow along pretty easily. If you know the top-10anime-key-words in Japanese too, it helps.

I've caught a few sub-titled eps in the years after watching the raws, I've found I was rarely too far off, and in a few cases knowing the actual dialogue kinda hurt the expereince. I.e. I had the gist of the plot right, but the actual dialogue was drivel. Perfect example is in the movie when Galvatron seduces Lio Jr. to come with him (And hence give him the key to the warp-gate). Powerfully directed, beautiful music cues, GREAT voice acting on the part ofn Galvy and Jr both. It's STILL one of my favorite moments from all of TF, but when I watched it subbed and found out that Galvy was warning Jr that he should be "careful of wild animals"....that didn't enchance the experience...

Anyway, drop me a PM, and I'll hook you up with my source for all TF media goodness. It's hardly a secret, he's been around the fandom forever (I got my VHS copies from the same bloke back in the day), but I'm not sure what the forum rules are about linking to non-liscened media, so I won't :)
