My intrest in Beast Wars is about a month old, so it's all very, very new.

So far I've bought Generations Rattrap, Rhinox and Waspinator, Takara Legends Blackarachnia, pre-ordered MP Optimus Primal and am getting the DVD set of the cartoon shortly.

What I've seen of the cartoon via Youtube has me believe that I'll form the sort of attachment to it that I've never had with the G1 cartoon.

To say it's already proving to be a massive breath of fresh air to my enjoyment of Transformers is probably an understatement.

    Happy 20th anniversary, Beast Wars.

You gave us a new era of Transformers, wonderfully distinct and memorable characters, a great story, and successfully carried on the legacy of G1. Thanks for the memories.

    Beasties! HBD

Truly one of the best animated shows ever, and one that couldn't have been done without Mainframe in Vancouver.

While Generation 2 was my official introduction into Transformers, Beast Wars was what REALLY cemented me as a TransFan.

Season 1 of the cartoon, the first year of the toys (Including the original McDonald's wave, which I ended up getting multiples of each figure.) Yeah, I feel old, but in a good way.

Happy 20th Anniversary, Beast Wars: Transformers, you left a legacy that all of us will never forget.

    TIL ALL ARE ONE!!!!!!

    Twenty years already? Time flies.

The really sad thing is of course that, as shown by almost yearly polls, BW is still considered to be the best TF show ever made. On the one hand that makes me happy, because it is a testament to how good it was, but on the other hand it's a bit sad.

(It's also sad that it still the only (western) show where you don't have the traditional Optimus Prime-Megatron as leaders. BW Megatron is his adopted name and the same for Primal.)

I'm a G1 kid and I actually preferred Beast Wars Megatron over his namesake. Plus with David Kayes' performance just cemented it more with me.

    That's a great write up.

I remember I tuned into the "Action Block" or whatever it was called where the show first aired.
I didn't even know that their was going to be a Beast Wars cartoon although I had seem some of the toys on the shelves.

I just happened to catch the first episode.
I watched the ships I would later know as The Axalon and The Darkside crash into earth.
I watched the characters come out with what I thought were uninspired names. The rhino is Rhinox? The tarantula is Tarantulas? Come on, I thought.

I thought it was just a ripoff and retelling of G1 and decided I wasn't interested.

A few months later I caught another episode.
They were fighting on some floating island.
Why was the dinosaur with the good guys now?
Some weird signal or something was sent into space.
The dinosaur, Dinobot (a name I still didn't like) asked if the recipients of the message would be "Friend, foe, or something else."

I was HOOKED! I cursed my stupid pretentious self for not watching since the beginning.

A hearty happy birthday to the last animated continuity I actually religiously watched and cared about (hoping the Combiner Wars machinima at least resonates enough with me to make me watch it,) and an equally hearty thumbs up to a fandom that has remained strong despite what has arguably been some fairly potent neglect by toy companies over the years.

Here's hoping MP Primal and this anniversary spur some interest both by Hasbro & TT, as well as 3P companies.

BW is teenage nostalgia personified for me.
