    Nice pictures Scantron!

I always wanted a Manterror. How does he hold together? I think i remember hearing somewhere that he was really floppy and too topheavy to stand. That true?

And damn... just another reminder of how much cooler the TM Waspy repaint is than the original.

Well, somewhat. Quickie synopsis: Beast mode looks decent, but suffers the typical insect Predacon problem of sitting on it's stomach rather than up on the legs (I mistransformed it a little in the above pictures to make it look a bit better); Manterror also tilts forward unless braced on one of the arms. The robot legs can be seen from the side of the abdomen, but the figure holds together pretty well in this mode and the arms have lots of poseability. Transformation is surprisingly complex and uses a neat trick to lock the chest together tightly. Poseability is really good, with plenty of ball joints in the limbs. Unfortunately, the shoulders (each made up of two ball joints) aren't very tight and the weight of the arms can make the upper limbs flop around a lot when the toy is moved. However, it's possible to set the arms in raised stances for display without the limbs sagging. Manterror is a little top-heavy in robot form, due mainly to the arms, and this restricts the possible stances a little, but the toes and heels provide a decent support base; swinging the wings down against the back lowers the center of gravity. Missile launchers work surprisingly well and shoot the discs about a foot to foot and a half. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the toy (a vintage copy I picked up second-hand) and it's a decent figure.

Second post, but wanted to deal with the mini-review separately. Discussion in the "Best non-Primal/Megatron BW Figures" thread convinced me to take some more pictures of TM Scavenger, so...

    Beast Mode

Drill Tank Mode - The "official" vehicle mode from the instructions.

VTOL Hovercraft Mode - First of two alternate vehicle modes I use for this toy. Just involves adjusting the ant legs and wheels of the drill tank mode.

Gun Emplacement Mode - Second alternate vehicle mode. Slightly more complex than the VTOL form and requires use of the robot legs.

Excellent lighting on the Primals, Autobot Dave!

My, someone has a dirty mind. Scavenger's set up as a gun emplacement, which Waspinator is controlling. In retrospect, I probably could have picked a better angle for the picture and used a figure that could have been standing further away, but Waspinator was the only other beast toy I had out of storage at the time.
