Interesting that those are all hard copies except for Megatron, who is a render. (Look at his feet – there's no rivets in the holes.)

 

Someone will create a new head, or at least face. I'm absolutely sure of it, along with SS Kup. Hope so for your sake cuz the rest of the figure does look really nice

I find myself wanting to like the face, but I can't. It just doesn't look like Cyclonus.
On top of that, after so many years they still aren't able to produce a Cyclonus toy without that idiotic transformation where they clip the shoulders from the torso and move them down.
There isn't a thing this Cyclonus does that the CW toy doesn't do better.

 

Yeah, I think they nailed it, at long last. Having him and Scourge together is going to be perfection.

 

How's this look? Cut out a teensy section between his eyes and mouth. Looking at all the cartoon screencaps posted here, it looks like his nose and cheeks are too long

Are we counting having a folded up robot brick under the alt mode as something good now? The alt mode on CW Cyclonus is absolutely awful, on account of that huge robot it has underslung. Which of course means that the transformation is sad and underwhelming as well.

If people enjoy that figure, more power to you. Subjectivity is fun. But statements like this are hyberbolic to the point of being utterly ridiculous.

 

See, I think that's the opposite problem. That face is better IMO, but the really subtle, human-like mouth right next to the harsh, flat cheek "panels" is off-putting.

The Kingdom Cyclonus face isn't bad. It's not great, but I've seen plenty worse in TF toys. I do think the lips are too pronounced, though, and it throws off the otherwise acceptable nose and eyes.

 

This looks a lot better but I think at this point I’m kinda just done with things that really wanna ape the G1 look & such. I’m mad happy to get updated movie toys but I don’t feel the need to really rush out & get these, think I’ve come to peace with that. At this point I’m looking for something a bit closer to his IDW look since that character is at the forefront for me now when it comes to Cyclonus.

Have you seen this higher resolution picture of Cyke hanging out with Warpath and Core Prime? I think his face looks way better here:

Whoops, I got Ninja'd. I admit on the lower res promo picture Cyclonus' face does look a bit off, but on the one with Warpath and Core Prime it's amazing. You can acually make out his chiseled cheek and jaw on that one, and his eyes are angled enough to make him look more sinister than sad. I even like his lips, they're nowhere near AKOM territory.

 

He still looks great!

 

Those pictures are actually kinda selling me on him now? I still got some issues with the face but goddammit now I’m leaning towards picking him up.

 

I've always been. I think the head could be a bit better, but everything else has always looked like a much improved Universe 2.0 Cyclonus with actually usable articulation (much needed bicep and thigh swivels).

 

The only problem with Cyclonus is that when you paint something silver it reflects light and shadows differently. This makes getting a good read on his facial details hard in promotional imagery. The best look we have is that group shot from a Facebook user with Core Prime and Warpath. That’s what his face sculpt looks like and it’s wonderful.

 

I'd say wait till he hits retail so you can check him out in hand before buying him. Some video footage with better cameras would also help a lot. Personally, I suspect he's gonna be one of those figures who look their best once you see the actual toy in "3D" and can turn around with your depth perception kicking in.

Great point, I was thinking the same. I love the reflective silver on his face, but on some shots he way his jaw reflects the blueish purple of his helmet makes his face look narrower than it already is. In hand with he right lighting I think he's gonna look beastly.
