I would have liked more cast interviews? I get David Kaye since he's based in LA but I'd like to have seen the other VA's from Vancouver get interviewed on the show.

I just realized... this is CGI. Why do we not have this on Blu-Ray yet? (or Beast Wars, more importantly.) Is this a case of it not existing any more at that quality level, since Mainframe dissolved ages ago?

Beast Machines.... the Beast Wars knockoff finally gets another new DVD set... whoopie.
I'm sorry, but if you like BM (LOL) as a mindless action show, that's fine.
But to me, the all-new writers/creators who took over after Beast Wars, did the BW franchise an injustice.
I simply mean b/c the show they made turned out just plain wrong..it took everything from BW's continuity and goofed it all up. Also, nobody asked them to continue the show after Beast Wars, they just wanted to try it and Hasbro hesitantly agreed.
The voice acting and animation was great... b/c it was all the same as before in that regard.
The toys (at first) were awful and looked nothing like the show, b/c of the disconnect between Hasbro and the first season of the show. Season two saw better figures... but the show ended by then.
Seriously, the show had bad writing, bad characterization, and convoluted plots from the start of episode one.
Glad Fox told them two seasons was enough, and ended it with only 26 episodes.
    Rant over, thanks for reading.

Tell me when Beast Wars is on Blu-ray... then I'll be excited.

I can't wait to get this and have it missing a disc. (I have the worst luck)

I am legitimately excited, though. If only they had a special version that digitally replaced Nightscream with someone not horrible.

I'm happy for completionists, and to be fair... BM had some naturally cool things in it.
The final fight was cool until the last minute.. I loved Megatron taking Primal's Optimal body as a form of irony.
The Grand Mal version of Megatron was cool too.
Some of the episodes had great titles.
And Rattrap still had a few good moments as well.
Cheetor also got the very first line of dialogue in Beast Wars, and the last line of dialogue in BM.

Lol. Of course the merits of the series are still being re-litigated thirteen years later.

I already have the original DVD set so I'm good. I recall at the time they said "no widescreen" because the show was never rendered in widescreen. Blu-Ray would also depend on the original resolution of the digital files. Which I don't know.

Many people enjoy the heavily sophisticated, intelligent, dark, religious, and political take on the Transformers series... for most of season one the viewer was rooting for Megatron. That was intentional, and it wasn't bad writing or hate for animal alt. forms. The show was able to give multiple dimensions to characters who basically only had one personality trait in it's predecessor.

So, this release has the same special features as the Rhino one? Despite the cool cover art, I don't think I'll double-dip.

I wonder if there'll be any other extras we may not have heard about. Still, I just might get this. I've been wanting to re-watch BM on a bigger screen for some time now.

Yeah, but Beast Wars was all about being that.. and much more.
Beast Machines merely pretends, being preachy isn't deep. It did some things right... but failed at maintaining what made Beast Wars soo great.
I'm glad you like it... but BW did it all better.. and did it before BM.
Also, BM has a continuity that is convoluted.. to put it nicely.

Can't wait to rewatch this I missed the end of the second to last episode due to the Al Gore vs Dubba George Bush election. I was so pissed as a teen.

Well, let me look at the back of the original slipcover....
Hmm...sounds suspiciously similar. If the SF release has a nice thick slipcase like G1, BW, and the Japanese Collection, it might be worth it just to have a nice matching set. But if it's just a standard case....

It's just a repackaging of the Rhino sets. Disappointingly lethargic.

You know... I believe it was Marty or Bob who said that HASBRO told them to make Beast Machines it's own show and not to feel the need to connect it to Beast Wars or G1 continuity. I'm glad they didn't listen.
