On Soundwave:
+ Mad Maxx death drone
+ Ravage
+ grabby claw launcher
+ Jetstorm homage
- brown plastic
- arms not being able to fully straighten out

On Laserback:
+ nice bot and beast modes
+ weapon forms part of the alternate mode
+ how the chest swallows up the beast head
- horrendously basic transformation
- robot hands visible in beast mode
- seriously, took me a full minute to figure out where the dragon head goes in bot mode, yet the robot hands are that bloody obvious?!

And I don't really bother with Autobots...


These are very much "get on sale, if even then" for me.

 

Holy shit Bumblebee, dat face!

 

Wow. I never thought I could say "PASS" so quickly.  

 

so horrible. not only the toys but in the animation as well.

 

I'm not sure if I like whatever the hell they did with Bumblebee's roof and Wheeljack's hood (the swirly color).

Laserback is looking fantastic IMO. Dragon mode looks great, and robot mode looks very charictarful. I'm looking forward to grabbing him. Wheeljack I'm actually warming up to heavily. Might snag him too. Soundwave I already own, and I frekaing love him. Bumblebee is the only pass for me, and just a pass at that. When I saw the return of the murderbee eyes, I was really tempted. Might grab one eventually down the line and repaint him in more appropriate murderbee colors.

 

I think Lazerback might be the only one I'm interested in. Not digging the new look that much.

 

I don't WANT to want the retools, but they are doing enough nifty stuff with them that I... really kinda do. Hawk-bow! Lots of of missiles! Fancy wings! I dig muchly.

 

They're all an improvement but Bumblebee is the one who needed a retool most of all.

Hmm... I'm not as bothered by Soundwave's tan shoulders because of how ravage's legs smoothly blend it into the rest of SW's chest when they're combined. BB looks better, but the swirly roof looks like crap. Wheeljack's hood, on the other hand, looks pretty cool with the charring effect. The only problem I have with him still is the disk really should be silver. I still have little interest in Laserback.

 

As I've said before, I'll skip Soundwave, Bumblebee and Wheeljack because I don't like the spikes and I already have the original versions of all three. Lazerback looks okay, not great but not horrible, and I like the sort-of-kind-of-not-quite-Komodo-dragon thing he's got going on, but I'll only buy the figure if he appears in the show.

 

Bumblebee is totally "What if Megatron never left his body". He even has Megatron eyes.

 

Well, they finally sold me on BB.

 

Looks like Cyberfire Bumblebee is going to have a friend.....

Laserback looks good, Wheeljack is alright and Soundwave I keep looking at him and the more and more i see him the less i like him.

 

Gimme that lasarback figure!

Bumblebee looks awesome.

It's funny, with all the retooling on these figures, they still can't give wheeljack arm swivels..
