As a pretty outspoken critic of Rage of the Dinobots, I... I...

... think it's time to give credit where it's due.

    While still not good, it was definitely an improvement over ROTD. It wasn't just "The Grimlock Show Episode #37163", there was actually some snappy and interesting dialogue, it wasn't just ACTIONACTIONACTIONACTION, the art was more coherent (albeit still weird in places;
    Firestar's
face in specific just looked bizarre) and they've actually set up some relatively intriguing mysteries.

Oh, and it may just be because of the main IDW continuity's fembot fuckup, but I really do appreciate that they clearly aren't opposed to sprinkling fembots in here and there. In ROTD we got Ser-Ket (RIP) and here we got
Firestar and another random fembot. The latter will never be the head of a major corporation, but still.
    So yeah, props.

Overall, I'd say it was perfectly average.

I feel bad foe this because MTMTE will totaly overshadow it, when it's actually quite an improvment over ROD.

Yeah, I thought this was a quite solid issue. Nice to see Sludge and Snarl get to be heroes.

Unfortunately some of the art is still more "G1" than "Prime" looking. Happily, Kickback fits right in either way.

I haven't started any of the comics but am acquiring them from my comic shop buddy. I just wanted to say that I'm glad you mentioned fembots.

I'm gonna start the Prime comics before diving into the IDW G1 reboot. Im going to show any and all fembots to my daughter. Might not be able to read the full comics to her until I've judged if its appropriate but any chance to show her female Transformers and I'm there.

^ The G1 stuff can be a bit heavy, but Rage and Beast Hunters should be a-ok.

Yea, I also enjoyed it, some nice character moments and promising direction.

Also cool that Ms Scott is doing a qna here

Starting to be tired of the Dinobots. They're everywhere it seems. Not sure I like how they're mixing FOC with Beast Hunters either.

I really enjoyed this comic. Set the mood, gave characterization to seldom fleshed-out individuals and set up a nice little mystery.

For the record I think its werewolves.

I agree the artist could have drawn some of the expressions and faces better, but the colourist really made all the characters pop and the panels were easy to follow.

    Good stuff.

    Wait, does
    Firestar's
line actually mean that Cybertronian's can have surgery done to them to make them the opposite gender?

I am honestly just glad that Dinobots are finally getting comic characters that go above and beyond "The Wolverine Five".

It would be much more surprising if that weren't possible. Humans can do it, and Cybertronians are a lot more modular. Plus the differences between male and female Cybertronians are apparently just cosmetic.

    I'm betting
    Firestar
    is actually the murderer.

I enjoyed this issue, and the focus on Dinobots other than Grimlock was refreshing.

One thing bothered me, though. This is Transformers Prime fiction, right? But everyone has noses!

Airwave is a Decepticon in G1 so its a curious choice as to why he would be picked to use in this comic.

Obviously he's up to no good.

I had a good time with this one. I agree that the art was...ish...the writing made for a good first issue, getting all the setup and establishment out of the way without feeling clunky. And as much as I like Grimlock, wow, is it ever refreshing to get some focus on the other Dinobots.

And god bless fembots, both the randoms and the actual 'characters'. I cheered when Firestar showed up.

Honestly, it feels like this has more plot in it than Rage.

MScott, I mean no disrespect with that, but I feel that there has to be a gap in between Rage and Beast Hunters.

Also, I really like how it's more WFC/FOC style, but streamlined to fit Prime a little bit. That helps things a lot. Hopefully, we'll get to see more fembots, as well as potentially large characters, something that it seems was avoided in DOTM and Prime.
