Pretty sure he means repaints of Generations Beast Wars figures specifically.

 

Actually, product themeing tends to last 18 months. Thrilling 30 started in the fall of 2013 and lasted until the start of 2015. Combiner Wars started the first of 2015 and will run until this summer with Titans Return will start shipping this summer.

The third "theme" of Generations will likely start in 2018

 

Especially when you consider a chunk of 2017 will also have a movie line running through it.

 

I've always felt like that the BM Dinobots would be the coolest way to experience the Dinosaur molds of BW, since there's Dinotron with the extra hat gimmick, and they all have Spark Crystals.

What is the general consensus on the BM Dinobots?

The Armordillo head has more than a passing resemblance. Even the name Armordillo hearkens to the character having a hard shell -- an iron hide.

It's the same with Dinobot's head looking similar to G1 Grimlock's, and Cheetor's head being an elongated G1 Prowl's. If you've got a 'cat' mold, you could easily call it Prowl. The same with a raptor -- easily called Grimlock.

G1 characters were clearly in the forefront of the Kenner designers' minds when they took on Beast Wars. The hints are there.

 

I did like that not only were people were able to get new Dinobots back then but it also provided a way for the Japanese BW toys to come to the American market especially awesome ones like Magamatron which I still like having.  

 

I tried out an alternate transformation and swapping some parts around from left to right on my old Cheeetor custom.

I think it kiiinda works? It at least gives him more accurate robot feet as opposed to the beast feet the original toy had.

 

Gosh I wish Universe Cheetor's feet worked like that. Would have been a fair bit better. Really neat custom!!

Wow, I havent seen that custom before. I am doing something very similar, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make the cheetah head work in both modes without partsforming. Can you elaborate on how you made that work?

I don't mind updates, what I don't like is IDW inspired figures. E.G. Magnus, Brainstorm and Swerve.

 

Aye. Dinotron was my first and I never had the dinobot mold so he was my standin for Dinobot until I got the 10th Anniversary one

 

This is amazing! If MP Cheetor happens and he turns out looking like this I shan't be unimpressed, great job!

Great stuff, cant wait to see a colour version maybe with some scale shots. We know he's probably going to be about 19cms tall now but it would be good to see him next to sone other MP's maybe some Gen Beast Wars figures for comparison.

Throwing out the feelers in this thread: Anybody have a BW Laserbeak they're not using? He's the only BW figure I've got left to find.
