Lack of metallic paint aside does anyone think this could work as a TMII Scorponok?

granted bearing this wouldn’t be too hard

 

I know it isn’t perfect because I just used a metallic green Gundam marker to turn Sandstorm into a normal beast mode Quickstrike. I think it works, even the head looks like Quickstrike. Now I just need to find someone who can 3D print me a cobra head for his tail.

Thank you, I tried to match his show deco as best I could. I know his color is more of a teal but I thought that the green was a better match.

 

The lack of asymmetry (besides his scalp) doesn't help either but yeah it would probably work decently enough.

 

It's kind of weird how all the Fuzors actually look like they're meant to be two existing characters fused together. Silverbolt has a similar head to Wolfang's mutant head, Airhammer looks like Airazor, Quickstrike looks a bit like Scorponok's mutant head, etc.

 

I've long held the belief the Kenner/Hasbro designers created the Fuzors by fusing already established Beast Wars characters either with another animal or with another character. Here's the details of a post I made back in 2015:

Fuzors. A theory.

The good folks at Kenner/Hasbro didn't stray too far from the original source material when they designed the Fuzors line.

In most instances, they simply took a figure from the original line, removed any relation to its attached character, and then added another animal to it.

For example:
Cybershark (hammerhead shark) + a hawk = Air Hammer
B'Boom (a mandrill) + a tiger = Bantor
Buzz Saw (a yellow jacket) + a lionfish = Injector
Jetstorm (a dragonfly) + an iguana = Sky Shadow
Optimus Primal (a bat) + a bull = Noctorro
Scorponok (a scorpion) + a snake = Quickstrike

Taking it even further, there are perhaps instances where the designers simply meshed two prior figures together:
Wolfang (a wolf) + Magnaboss Silverbolt (an eagle) = Silverbolt
Manterror (a praying mantis) + Iguanus (a lizard) = Buzzclaw
Megatron (a crocodile) + Snapper (a turtle) = Terragator

And perhaps this last one is the greatest stretch:
Magnaboss Ironhide (an elephant) + Microverse Orcanoch (a killer whale) = Torca

Just some food for thought.

I’m a sucker for Beasts at the moment.

 

Absolutely world class headsculpt on Encore Big Convoy.



Also loving the little nods to Optimus Prime in the chest section. While a lot was made of him being the first Convoy toy to have a Matrix back in the day, I'm also digging those sculpted in truck clearance lights, the striping on his abs and that classic grille getting revealed when you open up his breastal region.



Quality figure, one that really holds up.
