i like the way the Buzzworthy beasts
go with TM2 Megs. Similar color scheme (red, purple, black, gold), all with monstrous details. Sort of like a demonic subgroup of Predacons

 

Out of all TF history, I think BM stands the most to gain from some new figures. The OG Vehicons are still some of my favorite figures to this day. Newer, larger and more detailed figures would be great. Even new Maximals which fix the major design flaws of the old molds would be neat to see.

 

Following my prior post, I've been working on Primal's body but that's not ready to show yet. But I took a break to try and replicate the spark effect. It's not done yet either, still needs more detail on the inside (missing the pulsing spheres/lights), but here's a short gif of where I am with that so far.

Is the one in the back/ middle a custom?

 

From what I remember, it is. I believe base mold is Kingdom Jhiaxus? One in the front middle looks like a heavy custom as well, with the base mold looking to be Legacy Bomb-Burst.

 

Middle front and back are customs from Bomb-burst and Jiahaxus.

 

Here's some additional progress this morning on the Beast Wars spark effect.
I think it's like 90% of the way there now, still need to add another effect to the core area and additional overall tweaking.

I got my youngest the Optimus Primal reissue for Christmas when it was on clearance a few months ago. I remember seeing it when I was a kid, and thinking "wow, this is lame, all he does is stand up to transform, hurr durr"; kid me was a moron. What an awesome toy, they don't make toys like this for kids anymore. Dude is a gorilla that has weapons popping out of every orifice, & that transformation is so simple and fun. Whenever my kid puts him down, I can't stop messing with him.

 

It's one of the all-time greats.

 

You nailed it. Primal's transformation is exactly as complex as it needs to be, with the leftover engineering going straight into gimmicks. Every inch not used up by the conversion has something still going on.

I remember when they made the Deluxe Cybertron/BW10th, and the figure was over-engineered just to have a more complicated transformation where the limbs swap around, and yet lacks simple things like his shoulder pads and weapons. It was also a deluxe TBF, but still it always bugged me how little he had going on, and all the accessory budget was eaten up by the surf board.

I would've just kept the Ultra's transformation and have a key slot on his back to deploy his shoulder guns. :/

 

The Deluxe Cybertron mold pretty much referenced the Deluxe Beast Machines mold for it's transformation.
