I can't remember, the only non show guys to get the TM2 upgrade were Cybershark and Iguanus right? TM2 Razorbeast could have been awesome.

and honestly seeing as the only other new Predacon was Scourge I always thought Scarem was originally meant to be TM2 Insecticon (his bio states he’s a clone and I’ll bet you anything he’s a clone of Insecticon)

seeing as the Maximals got seven new guys out of it I think the TM2 Predacons mostly being past characters/toys in upgraded bodies would be a fair trade off. Especially since they started off with the Transmetal Driver

Snapper would have been awesome as well

 

I doubt anything tm2 wise could to transmetal Waspinator... esp in the fox kids/ buzzsaw colors

Since they gave each side an equal number of Fuzors and Transmetals (at least counting just the main toy line) I wish they did that with the Transmetal 2s.

Not counting Tigerhawk (who was the tiebreaker with story breaker powers) there are 10 Maximal TM2s and 6 Predacon TM2s (iirc Tripredacus Agent/Ravage was an exclusive and I prefer to exclude the G1 vets from my personal BW line up outside of guest star status anyways unless we get a TM2 Grimlock to oppose him-which we could have gotten via a retool or repaint of TM2 Dinobot).

so that leaves the Predacons short four maybe five if we exclude Megatron since he’s the leader and would be Optimal Optimus’s opposite number anyways since he got his form via merging with the original Megatron’s spark. Maybe exclude both from my count since they’re the leaders?

For now I’ll pick Waspinator, Snapper, Retrax, Manterror, Buzz Saw, and Drill Bit. Though if I were to pick more Maximals Razorbeast for sure.

Maybe add some metallic paint to the Thrustinator toy?

I’m not sure where to ask this I might even start a thread for it maybe titled it “How would you do a modern take on Beast Wars?”

Something I wonder about is they’ve made G1 Megatron and the Decepticons more sympathetic in their motivations or at least when they first started out with there being a corrupt government or class system that they rebelled against. This contrasts with their 80’s origins as military hardware built by the Quints and just never grew beyond their programming being proud warrior race guys at best or where they descend from Liege Maximo and are inherently evil.

what would this mean for the Predacons and Beast Megatron? Would they become more sympathetic? Would it be possible to make Beast Megatron redeemable?

nothing well a lot if we want to get into the morality about it, but I’m wondering how would BW be affected if the origins for the Great War are changed to the more modern interpretations?

 

After millions of years of war, its origins would have as little impact on a new Beast Wars story as it did on the original.
