Aw man, that's awesome! With all the stories I've heard about people having trouble getting their money back after putting down pre-orders, I'm TOTALLY layin' down $110 US for this hypothetical toy whose whole existence is based on one jpeg of some sketches! AWESOME!

BBTS doesn't charge your card until the pre-order item ships. Can't win with us on that one.

 

Or you could, you know..select Paypal as the payment option so you don't have to pay jack shit until the item is en route to BBTS and you receive an e-mail prompting you to pay.

Even though it is not yet cofirmed I am still looking foward to this. Its time to start saving up for the fall in high hopes. If it doesn't come through then I get to have a nice haul. I win either way. Yay me!!

 

With BBTS's policies, this really seems to me like a win-win situation. If it doesn't get released, you're not out anything. If the actual price is lower, you pay the lower price. If the actual price is higher, you pay the lower price. I can't see any downsides to this.

 

He did do that for the black Robotmasters when they came in way higher than the original preorder price. He gave those that had preordered first dibs at the new price.
That was a significant amount though. For something like this, I don't see the preorder going up more than a few dollars (<$10) and if that were to happen, he might just up the preorder price for those yet to order it, while honoring the original price for those that already have. Again, maybe. If it were like a $5 bump or something.

So still..it can't hurt. You preorder, opt to pay with Paypal and pay if/when it does come in. If it comes in higher than the preorder price, you'll know in advance and can decline. If it doesn't come out after all, you're not out a dime.

Nope, had a something similar happen with my Primus preorder. I preordered it at $85, then it moved up to $95 for a preorder a few weeks later, Primus is sitting at $105 now I believe. When the time came I was only charged the $85 and the next day it shipped. Their preorder policies are good, win-win as one person put it. BBTS is good for business.

I do think they are jumping the gun on this. I see an email going out with a big OOPS in the subject line.

I def think this is WAY to early to have a preorder already...I mean its still just a piece of papaer! No real official news at all. Typical BBTS and online retailers in general.
