    Pfffffffftttttt....................................................
That was me blowing the dust of this tread!

lets get this tread back up and running
    [IMG]
SS Bumblebee,Jazz and Ironhide (all in scale with each other at 1:39-1:40 ish.. KO OS SS Optimus prime (3 cm to small at 1:45 unfortunatly) and HFTD Deluxe Ratchet also at 1:39.
and.. also right there in the same ballpark......
Wei Jiang's OS SS Blackout with it's Scorpinook, SS Stinger and AOE Lockdown.

Talking of witch, the Evasion Prime and Voyager Galvatron work really well at 1:40 to and the Black Mamba Saviour Optimus Prime (KO of the TLK Voyager) is spot on (slightly to wide) in that scale.
Put Wei Jiang's OS AOE Hound, DOTM Que with them and we have some proper scaling going on!
I noticed a post by @Lukelbs that showed the new Barricade and Sideswipe with Bee and Jazz and those two are perfect as well!

Looks like we might get lucky with our obsession ;-)

I am also working on a proper scaled Starscream to go with my collection

    Another question guys..
With everything I collect in the 1-38/1:41 scale to have them look good together, I am wondering what Megatron I could use with them?
According to my scale-chart, he needs to be somewhere in the 23.5/24 cm range (9.1-9.3 inch) witch one would you shoose to display?

This is the scale chart I made with everything converted to 1:39 (in metric sorry) in case anyone is curious how they scale together..

    And here is some inspiration

Well... the only Megatrons I’m aware of within that height range are the 2007 and ROTF Leaders, which suck compared to their modern counterparts.

I guess you can try the ROTF SS BMB or Weijiang OSKO, whichever scales better in your collection, both are great options

thank you for that, do you have A Megatron as in a WJ or BMB OSKO to measure?
How tall is the original SS mold, he looks awesome and would be a blast to repaint I imagine

I don’t have him either, I found the pic online

Last time I checked ROTF Megs is at least 19,5cm. By comparison Battle Blades, Evasion, and TLK Voyager Optimus is only 18cm.

Ah ok.. I know actually that Battleblade Optimus is 19, Evasion is 18.5 and TLK Voyager is 18.. The OS KO from Black Mamba actually is 22 cm witch makes him perfect. the Studio Series Prime is a mere 16 so way to small.. the OS Ko of that mold is 19 to so that one does not scale well either. to have him in scale, only the OS Voyager TLK one or the Evasion work, with keeping in mind the Evasion actually is to small as a robot (19 cm vs 22)
With in the bonus round the awefull Voyager "Ultimate" prime that has the right scale but both his robot and vehicle just arn't good at all..

I've always found the movie optimus figures always end up with an alt mode that's too small (MPM04 and SS05 being the most obvious ones) whereas other bots can form a car mode that scales well.

Only one that has a good bot mode and alt mode (scale wise) has been the ROTF leader mold. I'll try to take some pics with it tomorrow with MPM-06 and others, and it scales very very well in both modes. This always irked me for MPM04 (aside from the hood doesn't tab in well... grrrrrr), generally in the 1:28-1:32 range so quite tolerable with general MPM line

The only prime that scales well is the Ultimate one and he really is the worst version available

Thinking more about my Constructicons. Since we are getting newer Studio Series ones. But I feel if the plans were cancelled, I may still need them. I also have ones out of scale like Deluxe Bonecrusher, DOTM Ironhide, ROTF Jetfire, Voyager DOTM Megatron and many others.

I thought about doing that but my studio series figures don't have a long "shelf life". Weak plastic and joints. The older toys are still like new.

I would suggest NEVER to sell a toy unless you have a BETTER (not newer) one in hand.. I have had so manny new transformers dissapointing, I would keep what I want to have replaced untill I find the sucessor worthy.

Yep. My beater Bee can't even hold up one of his arms anymore. It's a common trait for the line.
