I dont have a problem with the format, I was thinking he wanted more extras. I agree that it could have been better, the animated comic and deleted scenes should have been a standard addition to all versions.

I don't think they should have been in all versions. I like the idea of a version with just the movie and directors commentary and then a deluxe edition with an extra disc and all the extras. But I agree that the animated comic should have been on the second disc of the deluxe edition.

This just means there is going to be a bigger and better version later down the road.

I was thinking that too. Maybe closer to the TF2 theatrical release we will see a "Transformers Ultimate Edition" or "Transformers Cybertron Edition" or I can have my own fanboyish dream of seeing Transformers get a Criterion release.

We can only hope for a better one down the line. Maybe they will come up with some more scenes with the Transformers.

Forget the DVD, let me know when Bay admits the movie could have been better!

Nice to know the seeds for The Director's Cut, The Cybertronian Edition, Transformers 1.5, and The Robo-Watersports Edition are already being planted...

Not surprising that they're gonna pimp the movie more than they already have.

Now just wait and see all the exclusive versions for the director's cut. Maybe this time we'll have a transforming Bumblebee case that leaks lubricant from his crotch.

All that blah, blah, blah about how there will never, ever, EVER be a DVD with the IMAX footage? Expect that version to be announced any day. Now that the DVD is actually out, of COURSE Bay is saying it could be better. He's laying the groundwork for all the successive versions. And there will be many, many, many, MANY versions of this movie put on DVD over the coming years.

Why does everyone still bash on Bay?? Sure we'll get another "deluxe" edition of TF down the road, but in that respect did the world need a deluxe edition of Night at The Roxbury??

He should be happy... the guy's gotta have an X-box or two sitting around that can play HD. He pimps them enough in his movies.

Word. Bay's a consumer's director in his films, it's not hard seeing him think about the consumers with his DVD releases.

I want to make it clear I wasn't Bay bashing. I was studio bashing. There's a distinct difference.

Now that, would be awesome. I think a petition to Criterion might be in order. If we could just get this format war over with, Criterion could start making their HD discs (drool).
