Well that's fine and dandy. But even if this isn't a G1 movie that's still no excuse for making a bad design. Jetfire simply looks laughable. Granted he doesn't look as bad as Starscream, but he looks bad.
Not that I hate it, but having wheels on the bottom of his cane is just asking for trouble. That's how old people break hips. Someone mentioned putting giant tennis balls on the wheels in another thread, that would be priceless. a la:
It's been said, but reading this thread has spurned me on to write an additional "hooray for Old Crotchety Jetfire" comment. I also like him, partly since from what little bit we've seen of him (and that tiny complaining audio snippet) seems to suggest that he will be the kind of bearded, grumpy old bastard that I hope to one day become. I've been saying it for years, but I can't wait to be an old man.
After seeing that Jetfire's 'speed' rating on his toy is a 9 out of 10, I'm thinking he'll be like an old japanese kung fu guy. Like the old blind guy in the TV series Kung Fu. Basically, he acts old and decrepit and grouchy, but when someone attacks him, he starts kicking ass with his cane.

Why does he have to named Jetfire? I wouldnt mind if he was Alpha Trion and be like Vector Prime from Cybertron series? How did Jetfire of all Autobots have to be reduced to a live-action Energon Bulkhead? He even talks like him. Next, he'll have hip guns fire. So from an awesome scientest to easy going sub-commander to a powerful juvenille Autobot to a rusty ol bot. Umm, what kind of transition is that for our favorite Jet Autobot?
I hope you dont mind me altering the dialogue a lil bit. Since he spots an English accent it should actually be " Bloody hell, what was that?"

I am definitely not into crotchity jetfire. I guess I'd prefer all the robots to be "cool" and "sleek" like Sideswipe appears to be. I guess this makes each character more individual though. Jetfire seems more like Alpha Trion or something.
Because he's a jet and a ex-decepticon, the character's most defining trait in the original cartoon (and his only trait considering he had no personality). To be honest considering all past choice, he could be a untalking rock called JETFURH and he would still be better than the past versions.
yeah he was a mega cool in g1, could of been a robot king but hes now an old shithouse robot thats the kup of movie bots...umm gayness
