I liked him directing the TF movies better than otehr movies. Probably because his chaotic, action-packed over-the-top-ness fits right in with Transformers' chaotic, action-packed over-the-top-ness.
If Bay dosn't come back I would like to see Paul W.S. Anderson Director of the Resident Evil films take a shot at it, cause I like his action films and the 3D that he did for the last Resident Evil film was so awesome on the big screen . I think he would do a great job at it as long as there is good writing for the movie . Who ever takes over the director's role I hope they keep the same CGI .
I enjoyed the movies and like what he did but there are plenty of little things he messed up on. Where's the option on the poll for that?
Regardless of what other people say, Michael Bay is one of my favorite directors. I've seen all of his movies and the only one I didn't like too much was Bad Boys, but I still liked it a lot. Let's face it people, Michael Bay saved Transformers with his movies and assured us that we would get toys and cartoons based on the franchise for years to come.
Not alot of options here. Pretty much only "love it" or "hate it" are the choices. I think he's good for the action but bad for the story development. I used to think that Bay was the greatest director I've ever seen when I first saw TF1 (take note that I was 12 though!), but now I've sorta expanded my taste for films and prefer Nolan or Spielberg films.
Not Enough Options There should be more than two options. It’s very black and white. Nothing is ever that black or white. There should be a “Did some things right, did some things wrong” option.
I owe my current self to him tbh. Transformers is what got me interested into the film making industry.
Good at some things, bad at others. If I were Steven Spielberg in '06, I'd put him as co-director for the action and have someone else do the rest.
I think he did a great job w/ TF. Massive scale effects, LOTS of it practical (real). He gets in the thick of it when he films, def. hands-on.
I'll say its about 80% good and 20% bad. Which is still really good. He has an uncanny talent for shooting amazing shots and through all of his movies some of the best action scenes of all time (All of Bad Boys II anybody?) But his storytelling sucks. And I won't say his sense of humor is bad, because its really not THAT bad, just that Transformers could of done without it.
Bay is awesome. We always want more robot footage, as do I, but it's unfortunate that the robot models are freak'n expensive. Only dissatisfaction with the films was the humor, I don't want to go into any more details as that.
It's easier for other directors to do his job, than him to do a better job. He's like a porn director, shows you the good stuff for a while, as long as you don't care for anything else.
This. No one is perfect, he's gonna do stuff right, he's gonna do stuff wrong. It's stupid to label him as the worst director (not saying he's the best, but he's far from being the worst). He may not have been 100% on the movies, but he helped bring so much new stuff to the table with Transformers, and I think that's what the franchise needed. And here's something to think about - not one of you has a right to say Michael Bay raped your childhood when George Lucas has unnecessarily altered the original STAR WARS trilogy time after time. Seriously, my absolute favorite part of RETURN OF THE JEDI, ever since I first saw it when I was four or five, has always been the Max Rebo Band performing "Lapti Nek" in Jabba's palace. Just imagine my expression when I saw the altered version with the "song" (using that word VERY loosely) "Jedi Rocks".
