I have to say I'm not really a huge fan of the actual damage apps to this one. On the other hand, everything else looks very well done  

 

At first when I saw the blue light I thought it was tricked out with LED work! I was gettin' worried! 

As for the damage, it's good! I like it, I haven't really pursued the techniques of battle damage to this extent so I think it looks great.  

SQ7, what about the damage don't you care for? The application, meaning placement, or the techniques used?

 

I just think it's only got a couple of dings and that's about it. I'd hardly say it's "battle damaged" enough to label it that. I also just think it would have been better suited made as pristine as possible since the "damage" is so minimal. I think a similar example is the Hasbro Masterpiece Prime used for the 20th anniversary. In robot mode, there are some blast points, but that's it. It's not "battle damaged" as such, but the detailing is there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it isn't "battle damaged", but I don't think it's to the extent to warrant the label as such.






Maybe I'm still just pinning for a RotF Prime . . . .

While it looks good, I have to agree with SQ7 here.
Could also be I'm spoiled by TTT's work & I'm not a fan of the movie toys.

 

I like Encline's version better.  

Seriously, I agree with Superquad7. If you're going to label something as "battle damaged", you're going to have to do more than a busted windshield.

This isn't a knock on the work by Boskoes, I have a couple of their customs and the paint job on this is very nice. But it's just not "battle damage" to me.

 

I can't wait to battle damage prime up. I figure, if I'm gonna do an auction with he and Jetfire, it would be mid battle they "combine" ....which gives good reason to give him (and Jetfire) some major major battle damage.

I agree though, these guys have done good stuff consistantly, I posted it cause I think it's "the first" ROTF leader prime to hit ebay.

 

I like this, its not too overdone. Maybe we need a scale for damage done to a toy. Like a 1 would be a normal grunging of a toy with dirt marks and 10 would be kicked-around-a-parking-lot-for-a-month.

I would put this at a 6.

 

I gotta be honest. I never knock peoples work. But the truck paint could ...well, needs some work. But I know they will make a killing with it.

 

IDK, $51 and 1 day to go, let's hope there's a lot of watchers and last minute snipers.

I personally think it's still a tad early for the ROTF season, June 24th - whenever is going to be prime time.

 

I would like to say that I really like the custom itself; I think it's very well done.

Hey what's up! I'm new to the forum, so I'd just like to say hello, and thanks for accepting us (me and Danielle-) into the community. I really do appreciate reading feedback on our work- good or bad, it helps make us better artists. We've been doing alot of custom work outside of the Transformers universe- so making the transition back to bots feels great. Anyway, were just getting warmed up-look for lots of Transformers customs from us this summer.

So yeah, about the truck mode. Treat it as though you are painting a car. You should mask the flames.

 

Im not quite sure what you mean by "mask the flames" I don't have an airbrush, but I guess it's about time to invest in one, after reading all the comments. I know the only way to get any better is to listen to your critics, and to keep paying attention to other customizers work. Im always open to learn someting new and I think Im on my way to purchase a new tool. By the way, being a girl I kinda hate cars, but ironically I still love Transformes so I guess I gotta step up my game. Thanks for the welcome and all the tips.

But seriously, I'm glad you guys are finally on the board. I've gotten a few of your customs before (the reformatted Megatron is my fav), so in a community like this where ideas are bounced around left and right, you're bound to improve even more.
