My initial complaint was the the only good part was the chorus which was revealed in the trailers and that everything else is boring filler. I can appreciate music like this but, in this case I feel that the lyrics are very, very weak.

I had hoped that the song would grow on me like Iridescent (which is actually quite good) but it hasn't.

Most people who defended this song claimed that it matched the low, hopless mood of the film but, the film didn't use the song in the manner. To make things worse with its few and limited lyrics, all we got were the saw few and limited lyrics repeated over and over again.

So in my opinion with the song for what it is and how it's used, it just really isn't a good song at all.

It got overplayed. Just playing a melodramatic pop song over people looking sad doesn't make drama, Michael Bay. But I do think it's a badass song-when those drums kick in I just wanna start knocking motherfuckers out. I thought Iridescent was actually terrible and too over dramatic, and What I've Done was so average it's okay. New Divide was the only one I thought was good, and they never stopped fucking playing it.

Ironically, New Divide was the only song written for Transformers.

I wish they didn't play it during the battle with Lockdown

Yeah, the only good bits are the drums and the chorus. Not nearly as good as some of their other work.

Still better than Linkin Park though.

I thought it was 'ok' until they played it during all the good scenes in the movie - it ruined the final battle with Lockdown for me when 'battle cry' and 'control' started playing.

Not a fan of the actual song, but I thought the mellowed out version mixed with Jablonsky's score was pretty good.

It's ok in the score, but Imagine Dragons is a pretty generic "artsy" band targeted to people who buy music they hear at the Grammys. Music for people who don't like music but still buy music.

I liked it. I thought it was a big step forward from the previous works by Linkin Park at the 'least'.

Yeah, "Battle Cry" sucks. Although I'm hoping that maybe Within Temptation will cover the song and make it awesome, like they did with "Radioactive".

I think it's awesome! Recently I've been getting into Imagine Dragon's music, and I think they're great. They have a sense of epicness, that Linkin Park lacks.

Oh, don't start that shit where you put someone down for speaking their mind using the opinion defense.

Battle Cry's drums were incredibly cool, and the chorus was good. And it built up somewhat well until the first chorus, but after that, it's just "ooooo" and the chorus. And we kept hearing "just one more time before I go" during the movie, including the final fight with Lockdown. The other most blatant misuse was when Cade was trying to convince Tessa to go along with the Autobots.

Battle Cry's chorus and drums don't save it from being the weakest movie song yet. Iridescent was my favorite, and it was more or less used properly in DOTM. New Divide was also used fairly well in ROTF (Ironhide's first transformation gave me chills!).

The song's okay, but the way it just droned on and on during the finale ruined it. DOTM's score and how it was handled in the final battle was much better.

I like Imagine Dragons, but Battle Cry could be a lot better. It's not bad, just could be better. From the other themes, as a song Iridescent is my favourite (it fits very well if you listen to LP's album) and as a theme New Divide is the best one for the movies.

Umm......Doesn't that mean your opinion puts down people who liked the song?

I liked the song, as a song. I do think that how they put it in the final battle, and the score overall was out of place.

Well, welcome to how a lot of us felt about everything Linkin Park did.
