It looks like he just removed the pin from the hinge and just flipped it and left the pin out. Same idea with the wings: no destruction of original figure and it can be put back by taking it off and turning it around.

The pin was removed for preliminary testing and will be going back in, but I am actually installing a ball joint where other pin is. The ball joint comes from Animated Prowl's shoulder joint, I will be doing this tomorrow and will take pics of the progress if anyone is interested in step by step pics.

Very cool! I had similar thoughts but I wanted the mini wings to be separated from the window. I like how it looks though!

You dig the windshield-on-the-butt ala Twins style? I didn't mind at first and went with the ball joint under the roof approach too, but scrapped the idea after the fact because I didn't like how the inverted canopy assembly changed his physique. Looking at your pics though it doesn't look bad at all. And a PLUS for your approach IMO, is that the assembly can be compacted closer to his body!

Yeah, I thought the windshield butt would bug me although your right, it really doesn't stand out as much as I thought it would. Also, if I really don't like it in the end, I can just turn it back around on the ball joint. Again, for not wanting to do much to this figure, I've done a lot more than planned. Oh well, it sure is worth it.

In other news, the first coat of yellow has been laid down on the gauntlets and is looking great!

Alright, ball joint is complete and still transforms perfectly! The little clearish/white things are cross sections of an insulin needle to be used at shims to hole the ball joint. I just glued them in place and the ball pops right in.

Also, just found a good place to store my "add-on" in car mode.

The guanlets now have their first coat of yellow. All they need now is a little more sanding another coat and I'll paint the silver/grey parts on them. I think they're turning out pretty good.

Now, I just need to repaint the whole thing and it's done. I was also thinking about putting those collar bones on him but was beat to the punch by Liquidisk. :thumbs2:
So, I don't know if I should still do it as I would look like I'm copying.

    Anyway-

Gauntlets look REALLY nice axiom. Also, could you point out the insulin needle parts you used (Thinking that round styrene could do the same trick??), and which ball joint you used there for the roof top. And do you think that it could also be done for the rear portion of the roof instead? I'm thinking of doing something similar to yours, but still different :inquisiti

Thanks, They still need more work (sanding and final paint)
The portion of the needle is this-
    [IMG]
The ball joint is from animated Prowl's shoulder joint.
(side note- this balljoint and needle tube cross section setup is also perfect for giving Leader Starscream wrists)
And regarding the rear portion, I don't see why not, there is a ton of room back there in alt mode. I say go for it!

The guantlets are attached the same way as the originals, so technically yes, they could be removed. They rotate around like the originals so there is no problem with transformation.

Hello. Great idea to use the lancet cap and part of the needle. I am also diabetic and have these parts handy. I also have pieces that go to my insulin pump that I can use for customs. When you put the final coat on his gauntlets, you might want to try chrome yellow. It's a very close match to his color.
