So looks as though Bandai America's 6" Dragon Stars line was popular enough to branch out into them doing a line that covers other licensed anime properties. It looks like we'll be seeing waves of three figures similar to how they release Dragon Stars but with alternating sublines of the various animes. So far BBTS has preorders up for a Naruto Shippuden wave and a Saint Seiya wave (based on the current Netflix series). Naruto: Naruto Anime Heroes Wave 1 Set of 3 Figures Saint Seiya: Product Search Page And over on the Fwoosh they have a blurred image that shows we'll be getting a wave of My Hero Academia figures as well. Bandai America Anime Heroes line - The Fwoosh Forums There are supposedly unblurred images of the My Hero Academia wave, but I can't seem to find any. One thing that caught my interest as far as MHA is that Deku is being done in his current outfit which is more than can be said about the Figma (and one of the reasons I ended up passing on it). It'll be interesting to see what other anime Bandai licenses for 6" figures.
I'm afraid of the typical BoA f'ups like inconsistent/inaccurate scaling and especially hip armor on the Saint Seiya knights that blocks hip movement.
I saw this trio of Bandai dragon ball super figures two weekends ago at a Walmart “Dragonball Evolve”
Those are new. Are they 6"? They kind of look like repackaged Dragon Star figures with no extra accessories.
They've been out for quite a while. They're 5 inches, and not 5 inch scale, they're all just 5 inches. You can see Broly is exactly the same height as Goku, who is the exact same height as Vegeta. And looking at the Naruto line, I can tell right up that Sasuke will have absolutely no leg movement, yet they gave him knee and ankle joints... It's just a waste. Zamasu had less of a skirt, and he can't move his hips at all (even without it they don't move because the Dragon Stars line is terribly engineered 90% of the time, Freezas and Androids being a radical exception, as they have excellent articulation!).
Nice to see Bandai America making Naruto action figures for the first time! Mattel used to make them years ago.
Yeah, Sasuke looks like he'll have similar issues to Zamasu. Thankfully I can't stand his character and have no interest in buying him. As far as Dragon Stars goes I think the articulation has been improving on them since they dropped the baf from the waves. Both SS4 Goku & Vegeta, Piccolo, the Androids, Cell, and Frieza all seem to have pretty good articulation comparable to other 6" lines from the US.
I have some hope for this line, although alternating series likely means it'll probably be ages before they get to anything I don't already have a good representation of like with Naruto and My Hero. But hopefully they come out at a pretty good pace and we can start getting figures for characters those other lines will never get to or didn't get to before ending (freaking Sakura...). Even if they aren't exactly comparable to the high end Japanese collector lines, I'm still perfectly happy with the few Dragon Stars I have for what they are. So I'll be totally down for these too.
Just got into the Dragon Stars line, so this is really cool. I’ll probably get all the MHA figures as the Mcfartlane figures are atrocious. That said, I don’t really know what else they could do that I’d like. I’d murder for Shield Hero figures, but I’m sure this line will mostly just be mainstream shonen anime. If they made a Saber though I’d absolutely lose my shit as that would be hilarious.
They seem to be decent in terms of looks, curious about their poseability tho. I plan on getting the Revoltech All Might and Midorya, but I doubt we’ll get more than those two. Figma is too expensive and slow for me personally. McFarlane, though I really wish was 6-inch, is promising. These look like they’re also a decent offering, but they’re 5-inch with supposedly acceptable articulation? Honestly, whichever line puts out more characters will probably get my money. However, if these are small and cheap figures that are decent, it wouldn’t hurt to have multiple of a character. Excited to see some non blurry images!
Eh, should be the size of the Perfect Cell they put out. I'm more worried about them making the shorter characters too big by comparison.
Yeah, size is my biggest concern too. Kid Buu in Dragon Stars for example is way too big IMO, so probably will be an issue here too.
Ooh and here's All Might! Seems they've come out or leaked somewhere as somebody on eBay's selling them. So if those are the same size box (very likely), size difference might not be too bad... If anything, All Might will be too small lol.
Deku and Ka-chan both fit inside the box widow, you can’t see past Allmight’s shins. So I’d say it’s not the worst. Definitely better then Mcfartlane.
