Metal Composite and Metal Build are the same general scale (approx. 1/100). The main difference between the two lines is that Metal Composite figures are overseen by longtime Gundam designer Hajime Katoki, and are highly accurate to his lineart. Metal Builds are less restrictive in that regard, often featuring some rather radical re-styling, with an even greater emphasis on articulation.

    Thank you all!

I choose between Gundam Strike and RX-93-2 Hi-V Nu Gundam, it's what's in my budget (230$) and what I found on sale. Objectively, which of these models is better, excluding scale?

Hi-V Nu is a metal robot which is closer to 1/144 scale. I think it's down to preference. Metal Robot should be cheaper at retail. So if budget is more of a concern, Metal Robot would be a better choice. They have a pretty good selection compared to Metal Build I think.

Thanks. Is a metal robot comparable in quality to a metal build?

Metal Robot Spirits are good quality figures, just much smaller. They're essentially ~1/144 Robot Damashii figures with added metal parts, about 5" tall (which you might find rather diminuitive for the $230 price tag you're quoting). Metal Composite and Metal Build are about 8" tall by comparison.

If you can only get one, I'd start with the Poison Toys Kampfer.
It is large (1/72), has amazing paint and build quality, and is cheaper than most metal builds/composites.
I dare say that the build quality is better than even the most recent official metal builds like Char's Zaku.

Not saying that the quality's better or worse, but just a clarification that Char's Zaku is a Gundam Fix Figuration Metal Composite, not a Metal Build.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm thinking of buying a gundam model.
What about the Metal kingdom? Are they comparable in quality to the Bandai?

If you are looking for a metal frame model (a kit you have to assemble), then Metal Kingdom isnt what you want either. Those come fully assembled like all Bandai metal build/composites.

Others on the board will have to speak to quality since I personally don't have a "Metal Kingdom" figure. And unless I'm mistaken, there's only the Aile Strike KO under that brand.

I consider any model, with or without an assembly.
Yep, I mean the Aile Strike KO, I would be happy if someone could tell me what their quality is.

damn, really tempted but it seems from all the video reviews that i’ve seen his leg articulation, more specifically the hips and ankles, are pretty limited.

aaaaayyyyy! how does he compare to ultimetal prime? really curious to know your thoughts!

yeah that's honetly why im hesitant too i expected it to have the exact same of articulation as that of a standard metal build, but when you take into account all of the moving parts, I should've seen it coming, although yeah i it makes sense as to why it's limited but still manages to rub me the wrong way

The Ultimetal Optimus is objectively the greatest diecast Robot collectible ever made and will likely remain that way until they make something of that build that just plain moves via remote or something. It's not a knock on this but there's not anything that compares to that. Even the Yamato Ingram Units just don't stack up with them being utter perfection as well.

Sharing a portrait shot of my EVA-02. This is definitely my favorite among the 2 EVAs

Also, so it might take a while before we can get a review of Main Engine MEP01 upgrade kit for EVA-01, with all the shipping suspensions going on. Kinda bummed out since it was due for release last Nov/Dec

People are probably hammering the website. I'm interested but I still can't see this being worth 1K.
