Remember back in the 90's there was this amazing movement of music that lasted maybe a year before any band playing that type of music changed their sound entirely? Back then it was called Nu Metal or Skate Metal or whatever, I wasn't really into the music scene that much back then...nor am I now but I know more than I did. Basically this music I'm refering to is the sound best represented in my mind as OLD SKOOL Korn and Limp Bizkit, basically the first albums of either band. That kind of dirty, angry, sound where the bass is recorded at such a pitch you can hear it bounce off the neck of the guitar, and it sounds like they don't really care about cleaning up the reverb or anything in the vocals to give it the slightest sense of a garage recording...ahhhhhhh lovely Does anyone know any bands that have that similar sound to it either now or then? I miss that sound so desperately, especially since for the most part, everything coming out now is cookie-cutter pop/hip-hop, and I have to dip into the metal scene for most of my music (not that I'm complaining at all Mastadon's Blood Mountain rocked my world.) Anywho, just seeing if anyone can have anyone else to refer me to of that sound. Thanks ^^
you know who was doing the metal rapping before these clowns. senser, check it. born! into the age of panic!
I should have clearified, I wasn't refering to the vocals of early Limp Bizkit, just the music style. Oh and Korn didn't "metal rap."
I knew if anybody was going to actually recognize senser, it'd have to be a UKer stacked up came out at the peak of 90s punk/grunge, naturally it was overlooked. its no wonder as the decade winded down and RATM came out to the front I was, pfft, please.
RATM was a band that i preferred to Read the lyrics than listen to the music/rapping. liked em better that way. my 2 cents- tax deductible, no?
You should try and give the early Deftones albums a listen. They're more or less in line with Korn and Limp Bizkit in my mind.
Senser fucking rule! But as for that whole Nu-metal thing, who can I think of.. err Coal Chamber, Deftones, Soulfly, Mudvayne, Disturbed. Stuff like that.
