I like these guys. That said, and I've said this before, they don't seem like MP quality to me. They're more like CHUG Insecticons.

Groin conne.....OK thats most likely exactly what I missed!

The whole point is the display IMHO, and in a display they look mighty fine next to mp bots.

The color changing chest sold me on this set. I am usually not into the hyper toon look. I prefer the more mature look of Fanstoys or earlier MPs. However, in my mind's eye, the Insecticons were always dumpy looking in robot mode. Like, it was their alt mode, and being bugs was their true mode. So these fit better to me over the more heroic options. No regrets.

I did the same thing but with FT's in bot and these guys out front in bug mode. I think they have the best alt mode of the three and while I don't usually display alt and bot at the same time. they were priced nicely in a box set. Too good to pass up IMO.

Nice display! I'd love to use FT's but not really wanting to pay the going rate right now. I started collecting in 2019 so missed the chance to grab FT's bugs when they were new. Still I think MMC are a decent stand in for robot mode until FT reissues theirs. IMG_0081.jpeg

I agree and I wouldn't pay todays prices for these guys anyhow. I got them out of the gate but at the time, they were the only bugs in town. :p

Given a choice of the three sets, I'm not sure which way I'd have gone as they're all really nice sets.

Wow, the quality of MMC Insecticons is awful. BadCube feels bad, but at least they don't feel like they're gonna break. Kickback's gun handle came off in transit, his wing broke shortly after. Bombshell's knee broke just after transformation. And I was being really careful because they feel so fragile! That's just MMC, I've had no trouble with the others, not even FT Kickback!
That said, some glue and some time later, and this is very satisfying:

    I need more Insecticons.

    That's quite the swarm!

I have MMC and Badcube. I haven't had any issues with breakage on the MMC and I've transformed them a few times but I do hear you, they feel more brittle. I've got MMC displayed in Bot mode right now and BC displayed in bug mode. I didn't get into collecting until 2019 so I missed out on FT's bugs, maybe one day they'll reissue them.

I really wish I could find the Collector's Edition of Bombshell and Shrapnel, if anyone is selling or knows any place that has them for sale.

I don't feel like anything will break when transforming them, only when posing them!

I have the collector's edition, and they look and feel like MP to me. I see absolutely no need for the FT versions (especially with al the QC stories)

My set is now listed for sale. I like them and there's no FT reissue on the horizon but I can live without Insecticons for now.
