has the price been said for the mmc versions?

 

So I'm not a G1 guy at all, in fact I pretty much despise it. But, I generally look through these threads to see what 3P are capable of and I'm usually impressed, especially with real world looking alt modes.

I'm ridiculously impressed with both of these guys, the black truck looking something like Marty McFly drove in BttF Part 3. (I don't know my vehicles specifically, it just *looks* like it)

However, I don't get all the yellow on the back of the green one. I get it's purpose, he's a tow truck and looks neat doing his towing thing, but while the rest of the truck looks amazing with the colors and chrome appearance, it's sort of weird seeing a blob of yellow on the back with no real defining features that would make it stand out.

Am I wrong here? I don't get why the yellow blob couldn't get some more detail in it.

And I'm not trying to rain on any parade here, because I'm not planning on buying them, I'm just trying to understand I suppose.

The yellow just looks plasticy and sorta generic while the rest of him is just... wow. The plastic looks like metal. Does anyone understand the point I'm trying to convey here?

 

Out of nowhere, holy cow! Misleading with the speedbump photo pretending there was a delay for Grump and Slick, too! Hats off for a move like that, BadCube.

In any case, I still think I prefer MMC's Trailbreaker. Its sculpt is more accurate to the cartoon, and looks much cleaner in both modes. Time will tell, though- there are still relatively few photos of each and we have no idea what the transformations will be like, so my mind is far from made up.

 

Alright, trying to compare, here are some preference between BC and MMC trailbreaker

- I think prefer the silver painted shoulder guns on the BC to chrome on MMC, but cant be sure until final painted version of MMC is out.

- Also, the tires are nicer and cooler on the MMC. BC black paint is fantastic though, I really love the finish. Also, on BC, I prefer the front windshield contour (and black trim surroundings) and not showing as much inner parts as the MMC one

- Bot mode. I prefer the silver bits on the BC to the white thigh / forams on MMC. But otherwise, I think they are both desirable, not sure which I prefer yet.

I think I'll wait for MMC's Hoist. Lorry's lower body is too streamlined. I like the chubby, squat look that the toy had. He needs moar junk in the trunk (figuratively and literally??)

 

After time to reflect: Yeah I probably will I think.

 

Lorry/Hoist is being show with two bot modes - G1 and Modern look.

 

I've never liked Bad Cubes designs for anyone... Until now.

Not sold on the Hoist conversion but then I've been really been a Hoist fan. Trailbreaker on the other hand looks great and scales perfectly. Short of a TT announcement prior to it's release I think I've found my Trailbreaker.

My God     I asked badcube on facebook if they are going to make Trailbreaker last week and they are giving us Hosit too? And the Chosen Prime already has the order up, I can't say no to this.

 

In the pictures with Ironhide Hoist's legs are extended below the knees. I was wondering the same thing lol

 

I preordered these so fast I didn't even notice they weren't the MMC ones. LOL. At least the BC TB is the right color. I just thought they had fixed his color. Now I gotta compare them and decide what to do. September release!?! NICE.

"Speed Bump"? I think that one got lost in translation. LOL. Not that kind of Trail Breaker.

 

These two came literally out of nowhere, but boy are they awesome! I sometimes miss shockers like this-- in this the age of everything being spoiled well before it should be-- and it's totally sweet that BC revealed them this way. Looking forward to buying these when they ship.

 

I think as Trailbraker the MMC one works better as he has a bit more heroic proportions and he is not as skinny as this one...I might get the Badcube version as Hoist though

 

Quick comparison of Badcube and Ocular Max.

 

The running boards under the door look kinda weak, otherwise they do look awesome.

How was the QC on the Ocular Max Inferno? I didn't get that one, but I heard there were some issues?

My Bad Cube stuff has always been pretty nice.

Thank you for this! Awesome comparison. I think I am siding with BC Trailbreaker at the moment. I wish the running boards were as clean as OM though. And I would have liked chrome on the chrome toy parts.
