What is bad? These guys or getting them from showz?

 

I have both and have been very happy with them. As long as you like the way they look you should like the bots. My joints are tight without being over tight and the transformation is pretty smooth.

 

I had to loosen the screws in the feet to allow for transformation back to truck mode on my Huff. They must have recruited a worker from FAAAANSTOYS to assemble these.

 

They are both good. Pipes is a bit plain, but the bot mode is good.

 

I've got Huff coming next week. Looking forward to seeing how he stacks up against the V1 I used to own. It will be nice to not have to worry about paint flaking off or sliding parts sliding off. Or having to lock the hip joints in for him to stand.

He is awesome but a bit plain. When I get him repro'd up, I will post pics to help people decide if it makes sense for them.



As you can see, I really like repros, especially the license plates. I don't always use the whole set, but that is what I like; you can customize as much or as little as you like with them.

 

Finally got these two upgraded. Took a fair bit longer than expected, but ended up modding some extra parts I didn't originally plan for (including Huffer's gun & Pipes' smokestacks). Will be sending the older 2 to the ebay pile, haha!

 

I just got my Piper, all told he's great but feels like they rushed him. Unless I'm doing something very wrong the truck has there distinct chunks that rely on friction instead of locking in. To be fair that friction is good at it's job; the cab needs a dedicated pull to lift way from the torso mush. The shapes involve keep the rear from twisting beyond reason, but nothing stops the robot hips from letting the truck inch worm along. On an Animated toy this would be hilarious. On a MP-alike it feels unfinished.
Robot mode is almost awesome with one issue, he has an entire hollow truck cab on his back. Perhaps I was not enough of a Pipes fan to expect it, but wow. What annoys me the most is it's just there. There is more than enough room in truck mode that badcube could have hid panels against the doors to close up the giant rucksack 80s toy design doomed him with.

 

What hands did you use? Is there a tutorial? Do they hinder transformation?

 

I just picked this fella up on ebay, I think of all the 3rd party mini bots , he's most screen accurate + good qc
