Usually, Hasbro provides some kind of narrative to explain pack-ins or gimmicks. Even the copy on Power-core combiners cast the partners as mini-cons and talked about the Power-core upgrade process.

But it occurred to me that Hasbro's copywriters didn't compose any kind of backstory to the triple-changing Legends' micro-buddies. (Maybe I am missing something by not being up-to-date on the comics?)

So what are we looking at? Tiny triple-changer Cybertronians? Mini-cons? Something else?

I believe they are modern updates of g1 micromasters, though I could be wrong.

I love them they seem like Micromasters to me and I love getting a modern articulated figure with a little G1 simple but highly detailed sculpt.

They aren't minicons because they don't have the logo I am pretty sure all minicons have had the logo since they made it, even the new deluxe combiner had it, I know it's based on the comic aliens and technically isn't based on minicons but it has the logo.

I didn't put Chop Shop down for days after I got him, a bio would be neat but it does mention them in the story at least I would rather have ore figures than spending the guy to make a bio.

I guess at this point they probably have a program where they put in the names and the machine generates the blurb.

I should probably clarify my initial post: Hasbro has indeed been giving brief characterizations for the partners (and several are updates on already established characters). I'm suggesting is that it is unusual that Hasbro hasn't classified them as a kind of transformer, yet.

They're designed with specific G1 Micromasters in mind.

Hey if you want to throw them my way for free ha.

It would be neat if they made a legends bot that had some kind of base/vehicle for them.
